"Of course." Rei murmed, tilting his head as he smiled at her, matching her soft tone. "One should be aware of the ebb and flow of communication, responding to the wants of your partner. Beginning gently, but knowing when the other person needs you to be a bit more firm."

He gave a casual shrug. "And every conversation is a bit of give and take, but I assure you, when needed, I am certainly willing to give." Rei covered his smile with a sip of his drink. This flirting actually was a rather good time, he had to admit.

Finally a conversation worth having, even if it is just for the fun of having it! The Bayushi lets another soft chuckle out. "Where could such a well educated and giving man as yourself be hiding for all those days? I really don't want to use clichés about rabbit holes." She leans even closer to whisper to his ear. "Will you be a dear and find another pun for poor me?"

The Bayushi takes a step back and smirks. She takes a sip of her drink while looking at him, measuring him up. "Are you willing to give?"

Finally a conversation worth having, even if it is just for the fun of having it! The Bayushi lets another soft chuckle out. "Where could such a well educated and giving man as yourself be hiding for all those days? I really don't want to use clichés about rabbit holes." She leans even closer to whisper to his ear. "Will you be a dear and find another pun for poor me?"

The Bayushi takes a step back and smirks. She takes a sip of her drink while looking at him, measuring him up. "Are you willing to give?"

Rei took a deep breath as the young Bayushi whispered in his ear. She had the makings of a Dangerous Dame, alright. Alas for the age difference... "No rabbit holes. Alright, hmmm." A brief frown, and then Rei smirked. "I've been keeping my ears to the ground." There, that counted. "But if I'd have heard you were looking, I'd have showed up sooner."

He watched, smiling, as she looked him up and down. "I like to think I have a generous spirit." He said, maintaining his pose, merely holding his drink. "Is Bayushi-sama the..." lips quirked, "-accepting sort?"

"Ah, karaoke! That sounds great! I haven't been in a long while." Sakura did not ask whether all karaokes end in a shoot-out, because normal people don't ask that.

"Sounds like a great plan. Anything in particular on the World of Dreams that you re enjoying Matsu-sama?"

“I’ve always liked night clubs, so that kind of shows one of my favorite activities here.” The Matsu in question rubs the back of her neck. “But honestly I love exploring the unfamiliar places a lot. Getting accustomed and all that.”

Reki raised an eyebrow at the comment, "More forceful then."

Her eyes drifted to the crowd, "...it would be rather scandalous for me to have dinner with a Spider. Though, what isn't scandalous on this world. I suppose I would first wish to know a venue."

"In the right circumstances." Yuji replied, half-lidded eyes wickedly watching her reactions. "As for venue, there are many options. Though securing a private dining room shouldn't be an issue." The glass slightly lowered.

"To keep the scandal to a minimum, if you'd prefer that."

More concentrated thinking went on . . . it might have taken some time.

"So if I do that . . . I'll say less silly things?"

The effect of all this thinking is that he was paying less attention to his drink and it was beginning to tip to the left . . .

Casually Koyuki's hand enters the space, and rights his drink by only touching the glass so that it doesn't spill. Carefully creating a blocker rather than pushing the other way lest there be another obvious bit of potential for an accident.

Hinata never even notices his drink was in danger never mind Koyuki's intervention. He's paying more attention to the Crab herself, lest he be outsmarted.

Narrator: He was outsmarted before they even started talking.

"Well I don't really care but some others seem to think I should be more serious, so it might stop me getting moaned at by Naz-kun and Doji-samaaaaa a bit."

Yes, though no thanks to all those rumors running around New Kalani. I do still wonder who started all those.

"Yes, we had a lovely time meeting each other's families prior and settling the contracts. Children will come in their time but we both have our duty to occupy us at present." She takes a sip of her drink. "And what of you Susumu-san? Are you pondering marriage?"

"Mm, I see, I see..." she shipped her drink too right before the Big Question.

"Ah, well... who knows. I have no such plans myself, but I will do what my lord asks of me. For some it might be a challenge to be married to someone like me if I am always busy touring or working on new music."

It was a good sidestep away from that kind of attention directed to her. "It seems like there's many other people from New Kalani here as well. Almost as if the year is ending how it started... me, you, Susumu Sumiko, Yoritomo Seika, Hotaru Jun. Shosuro Hashinako too, but she has been busy the past week with work I imagine. Have you had the time to catch up with any of them?"

Yamako took a moment to gather her thoughts. "Yes a few of them, though I doubt our Shoshuro friend is here as herself, but rather trying to relax a bit. And of course, marriage is a very large commitment, especially when one is as busy as you are. I am sure the demands are quite extensive."

Yamako took a moment to gather her thoughts. "Yes a few of them, though I doubt our Shoshuro friend is here as herself, but rather trying to relax a bit. And of course, marriage is a very large commitment, especially when one is as busy as you are. I am sure the demands are quite extensive."

"They are," a wistful sigh accompanied the statement.

"But, singing and performing is my great passion, so I'm not really complaining. Just like how you say marriage is a large committment, you wouldn't really complain about it." Except there were those who absolutely complained about their marriages, but Yamako didn't seem the type.

"Have you had the chance to remain in touch with anyone else from New Kalani, perhaps?"

"It might. I imagine being scolded for such would get tiresome after some time," she offers. Some brief attempt at empathizing with a problem she simply didn't quite comprehend.

He carefully moves the drink so it no longer requires Crab earthworks to bolster it.

"But very well...I will indulge your request." Reki took another sip of her drink. Another happy moment filtered through her mind, a dance at some formal function...they all ran together. All that had mattered was their time on the dance floor. The Akodo's smile turned melancholy.

He chuckled. "Well, it would likely be unavoidable no matter what, Akodo-san." The Susumu shrugged, setting his empty glass down once more. Closing his eyes to savor that last taste of the whiskey. "You honor me, with indulging the request. I'll get us a reservation." His voice was low, eyes opening back again to look deeply into hers. He noted the slight shift, the sadness that seemed to follow with the curl of her lips.

"Hopefully it will add just a nice memory to your vacation."

They like to hide it behind silks, fans, and beautiful flowers. But I'm confident you'll be able to manage well this time too. Though I am curious, is New Kalani or World Of Dreams more like your homeworld?"

The melancholy hadn't completely left yet, but her smiles was still there. "I will leave that in your hands. Offer you the tactical advantage of surprise. I'm curious what a Spider thinks would make for a nice dinner for a Lioness."

It's about... politics after all. "How many agreements do you think that you wrap up in a night, Usagi san? Those done in haste or are left incomplete for either of the participants don't count, of course."

Rei's eyebrows went up a little at the word third, and his lips quirked at the word fourth. "Impressive confidence." He murmured, smirking. "I'm inclined to believe it."

Taking a casual sip, Rei shrugged. "A good negotiator with a persuasive tongue can usually manage to coax a little more out of even the most stubborn counterpart. I'd like to think of myself as having such, and I've no doubt that you do as well." His sidelong smile was definitely playful, there.

When she looked at him, he met her gaze, his pale eyes intent. "As to an exact number, I couldn't say. Some things can only be known by being tested. But I promise you this, Bayushi-sama. Should you and I find each other locked in negotiations, I will rise to the challenge, I assure you."
