"Oh." Rei looked at the glass in his hand, then back to Sumiko, smirking. "But it's very good alcohol." He chuckled softly. "I suppose you just need to make sure other people are drinking at least as much."

He tilted his head, still smiling playfully. "Oh good. I'd think I would remember if we met." The flirting was nearly automatic. He let that linger a moment, taking a sip of his drink.

"It was." Rei said, letting out a breath. "I wouldn't be surprised to hear that similar parties are done elsewhere, but this one is very World of Dreams." He shook his head. "But yes, I've been here more than two years now. Enough to become familiar with things like this."

"It is quite good alcohol, but I'm not much of a drinker" Sumiko chuckled "so I'll stick to half the amount others are drinking. Speaking of, would my mysterious company want another drink?"

She thought on his comments.

"Hmm...I've been travelling a little and not heard of these elsewhere. I do wonder how other clans might approach it. The hosts do mystery better than say the Lion or the Crab. Not that I need to tell the regular of course" she winked at him "I don't think I'll be here for years, there is much to take me elsewhere. Many places to visits, sights to see. Secret parties to crash" she laughed "I don't think I'd be one to settle for the same parties."

But it should not be an impossible undertaking, the Scorpion wanted to spoil his guests, after all. And soon Nsihdia was standing there with two glasses of chilled sake and wanted to give one to his dance partner.

Listening, still smiling, he nodded. "Oh yes, there's many mysteries to be found here. Uncovering those is a seperate full time job." He flashed a quick grin at her wink. "But it does keep the mind occupied, at least."

"Oh really?" Rei tilted his head, regarding Sumiko with that same playful smile. "It sounds like you're a woman who enjoys new experiences. Is that so?" A server arrived; Rei snagged two drinks, replacing his old nearly empty one on the tray, offering a fresh to Sumiko.

The little fox had weaved through the crowd with some ease, dancing steps helping . . . or they were just very experienced at negotiating tight spaces. The only distraction had been some of the other dancers, the vulpine mask halting to watch and appreciate the skill on show.

Seeing his wife and a Unicorn involved in something, Ryuhei waltzed into a distance of subtle beckoning in case any wingmanship was needed to not attract unwanted attention.

"I imagine they are." He listened to Kimurahime closely. The descriptions of those attending. He could imagine he knew a few, others, doing an excellent job of fully buying into the masque. The edges of his lips curled into a smile, while the pair moved away from the edges of the party.

The feeling of her touch against his hand was welcome. Hus long, slender fingers interlacing with hers. The subversive nature of openly declaring that they were together when every one was in disguise was perfection. He gently squeezed her hand as they walked, "As for prospects... It still is the beginning of the Court season. Seeds beginning to be planted."

Kimurahime would smile softly at the squeeze on her hand as they walked. Her attention would turn to the room as she curiously glanced at the various figures present. She did look a bit unsure and spoke to him with little theatrics behind her words now. "Hm, it might a bit past the beginning now. I get the sense that many here are already getting an idea of what may bloom in the near future. Perhaps now is the time to be a bit bolder in our approach? While we have a little cover with our personas. You might not get this sort of chance at a later time."

His smile broadened, more wickedly, perfectly at home for such a masquerade. Looking about as she described the various characters, he wanted to make sure they found a prospect that would be enjoyable for both. Not that there was any lack of that.

Whatever this was, and it looked like composure and/or make-up malfunction, Tenma seemed to be handling it. Still, Ryuhei stayed on alert, just in case.

"There are very few predators that aren't preys themselves. However, in nature, it's not always the biggest, meanest animal that isn't at risk of being eaten. Often, the key point in survival is how many friends you have. The pack can do things the lone hunter wouldn't dream of on its own.

What I'm here for tonight is to sniff at everyone in order to identify with which pack they mingle. That smell of yours however, I can't manage to pinpoint it. Who's your protector in the dark forest little fox?"

Mariko, who seemed to be content to play the wallflower tonight, raised her brows when the masked tuxedo man approached her for conversation. After being given a bow, she would return the gesture by placing her hand on her skirt and dipping into a curtsy. "Hardly a jewel but I forgive the common mistake. I'd like to think that I am more like a star of the night. Good evening and how do you do tonight?"
