Hato had planned on heading over to the convience store much earlier in the day In fact, she had planned on going right after the strange breakfast. But today there seems to be much heavier traffic in the area.

Granted, the slums WERE huge, it's not like anyone would notice one person going to the convenience store. She wasn't suddenly going to be caught up in a Scorpion manhunt, an awkward exchange with an ex-employer, or Doctor Badass drinking herself blind, as she went shopping. But if any of the above caused enough trouble, it could affect the whole neighborhood. It would not do to have evaded the Scorpion's notice this long only to get caught because someone decided to get all shooty somewhere else.

So it wasn't until evening until she made her way back to the run-down convenience store and it's weedy little clerk behind his shot up bulletproof glass.

She slid the customary 3 koku across the counter. Six days ago, that would've been every zeni to her name. With the money that the Crab had given her, she could've partied like a noble for days. Stayed at the fanciest hotel suite, eaten her fill of sushi, and drunk her fill of sake. Many would say that to risk the Scorpion's wrath to pursue more than that was foolish and sinful. But Hato had bigger dreams that did not fit inside a sake bottle, and that required more money.

Even if it meant working for a real ivory tower scholar. Seriously, who thought you could make competitive wage charts for crime?

"A pack of black mist cigarettes and a lotto ticket." she said.

Awa/Investigation, 2 raises called, Void Spent, 50 vs. TN 35, Pass

The man chuckled and pressed a button beneath the counter.

"Just can't stop playing, huh? We'll get the cigarettes fetched up from the back."

Hato did her usual routine of hopping in the broken photo booth for a picture that never came from it's slot, and waited for the cigarettes to come.
