"This is sure going to get ugly if we let it..." She murmured as she quickly moved behind the counter to take up positions. That should grant a little cover at least.

Hide took up the other side of the counter, a sigh escaped from her lips. “Well, we show ‘em hell.”

"They were here, get ready," a slightly muffled voice would say as the figures closed into the workshop. There was some shuffling of gear that sounded like the unholstering of a firearm.

(Roll initiative!)

Eriko and Hide are 15' from the doorway and the figures are at the doorway.

While Eriko was sure this might potentially end up on the morning papers and the Lion might ask for a report as to why she fired her weapon in the city...she was hoping those tickets she gave to Reki were going to get her out of that headache. Sure, it was wishful thinking on her part but she had to be optimistic about something in the situation.

It looks like they made their choice to stand their ground.

"Heya, fellas!" She could call out before using her firearm to fire off a shot. Here's hoping that her intuition proved right and these were not-good people in the slightest. Her shot would strike the first goon coming at the door with a machete in his hand. A part of her wished she tried something fancier...

"Fucking kill her!" The other goon with the sidearm would say. He would immediately take cover at the doorway, pressing his back against the concrete. Peeking to take a quick shot, the radiant shot would pierce the wooden counter Eriko was hiding behind and give her payback for shooting first.

The second goon would let out a guttural cry after being shot and quickly charged forward with his machete, going after the combatants on the other side of the counter to neutralize them.

Hide had trained her gun on the goon as he ran at her. He made the mistake of rushing at a Matsu Marine, trained to fight in close quarters like these.

She was pissed.

Eriko grimaced when the goon charged Hide, considering they were close enough to chuck rocks at each. It was a bit too close for comfort but she never picked the battlefield, only made the best with the cards she was dealt. She grimaced as she held on to her side. These counters weren't exactly made for standing much in a gunfight. It was time to fight fire with fire, however, and she popped up to take another shot at the ronin standing at the door.

Again with that sure shot. Eriko knew there was a reason why she typically tried for fancy shots.

The other Goon had a wobbly grip on his machete but he was going to attempt to do some damage. No caught to panic yet, he had backup, right?

"Uooou-ragggh!" He bellowed a war cry before taking a swing with his rusty machete, only missing with his weak grip on the weapon.

This masked goon's movements were way to sluggish and slow for Hide to get hit. She ducked under his swing, shoving her gun right up under his chin before she pulled the trigger.

Matsu training sure resulted in a very unfun display for that guy's buddy.

This goon should have stayed in bed this morning and the masked did nothing to help him keep his brains inside his head. He slumped on the ground, dead. His machete clattered on the ground.

"Holy shit!" His partner cried out in dismay.

That was...kind of expected from Hide. It seemed to be an ongoing theme here. Cross a Matsu and things get messy! Eriko didn't let up on the offensive, especially when she wasn't sure if the other one was properly demoralized yet. She popped up like a gopher and took another shot! This time, she tried some fancy shooting!

That hurt but he was still alive. Maybe this Matsu wasn't so tough after all! ...Or maybe he got lucky and was lucky to be still standing after that shot. The numbers say 2 on 1 and those were bad odds, Matsu or not. He figured he was going to cut his losses and run. "I'm getting the fuck out of here! Shit! Fuck this place!"

Hide let the dead man slump, getting out of the way. The other goon had left. So she turned to check on her wife. Oh shit. Eriko was bleeding.

"Oh shit! Eriko, you're bleeding!" Hide holstered her gun turned her full attention to Eriko. "It's not serious is it? Do you need a doctor?"

[Matsu Eriko]

Eriko mustered a bit of a smile as she put away her own gun with a wince. "It looks worse from the outside, really! We can probably just slap a few bandages on this one, I'll take two pills and sleep it off for the evening. The real tragedy is losing this outfit, I got just two weeks ago. It's not often I get forewarned that I'm walking into a gunfight."

She shook her head and grew serious. "I'm going to take three guesses where those guys were from. Figures they would give up going after me and take my stuff instead."

[Matsu Hide]

“The fact they had this set up probably means they… Might be waiting for Cheung? Sure seem like they trashed the place before, but no sign of a struggle.” Hide stood up, offering Eriko her hand to help her up. “If they already got the thing, why bother sticking around?”

[Matsu Eriko]

Eriko was already up and didn't quite need a hand. However, she did probably need a shoulder to rest on. She put an elbow on Hide's shoulder. "You're right about that. I guess they probably thought he could come back...or maybe someone would come looking for him knowing something, that's their hope. In that case, it looks like we might have to start scouring the city for the guy if he's on the run. He might be scared enough to not even come to me for help. And, I don't exactly see the relic here. Maybe the True Scions are on the same footing as us."
