Dai resists wincing at the thought but nods, "It's possible. But bribin' magistrates, gettin' the proper documents to get through the checkpoint, it's a lot more than a koku."

[Kuni Sumie]

The Kuni would lean into the bar counter, resting her elbow on it as she looked at Dai with an expectant expression clear on her painted face. "Yeah, obviously. I know it's not going to be easy but I'm going to break the bank, I should just go big and all that. So, how much are you looking for exactly, then?"

[Dai]

"Gettin' the proper papers and bribes'll be at least ten koku on its own. For my services after that... five koku for the outer zone, ten koku for ground zero. And, to be clear, that's for a guide. If you're expectin' me to stand and fight if things go to shit that's gonna cost extra - I'm not a soldier."

[Kuni Sumie]

It seemed the Kuni's ballpark might have been a few tens than what was advertised and her eyes did let up at the rather high numbers that were being stacked together. "...fuck, so like 25 Koku for the whole thing? Have you ever done one of these for people before? I'd imagine you must be set up for the year after that."

Her gaze went up and down on his person, wondering if there should have been some evidence of some fancier or mainstream lifestyle that the ronin had been living. Wasn't there a mention of a sponsor at the end of the video? After a moment, she just rolled her eyes and started searching her pockets. "Meh, whatever. I guess I'll just find my own way in or something someday. Or some other ronin. How hard could it be? I'll take your footage for now."

There was the rifling of keys, loose pill blisters, and various polyhedral dice before she could wrangle up all of the loose change from her pockets to form a rough total of 1 Koku. This was given in coins of various denominations of Unicorn, Mantis, Crab, just to name a few. "Here, knock yourself out.

[Dai]

Good luck with that.

Dai knew anyone willing to do it for the prices the Kuni had in mind was also likely to end up with one, or both, of them dead... or wishing they were dead. But he still feigns politeness.

"Of course, Kuni-sama." He hands over the datadisk, "I'll have the rest of the footage sent to the Crab embassy I assume?"

[Kuni Sumie]

The Kuni was taken aback by the suggestion and glared at Dai. "No! Like I'd let anyone there look into my stuff. They'd probably send it away or toss it in the trash because it's nothing involving their political day-to-day bullshit with winter court. It's not a message from the game of letters, oh no! Psh! No way I'd let those dorks touch my stuff! Uhm..."

She paused for a moment as is considered a few options as she looked around the establishment. "I don't know. How about you drop it off here and I'll pick it up. I'm sure there's a dropbox here and I'll just pick it up tomorrow. Tape it all up and put it under a table. Or maybe just hand it over to me next time you see me. I'll be around."

[Dai]

"Sure, I can leave it here." He was doubtful as to how long anything would stay here and the chance of it surviving until pickup, but as long as he made the attempt he did his part.

[Kuni Sumie]

"Cool. That's settled then." She said with a few nods on the matter.

"So," she brought up with a frown. "Are you pretty much done with all of this desolation diving then? You're not going to be headed back there anytime soon?"

[Dai]

He shakes his head, "Oh, definitely not done. Need to keep putting out shows... plus any other salvage."

[Kuni Sumie]

She nodded soundly at that. "Eh, I figured. You can't exactly go around shooting stuff at that and then shooting stuff revolving around some Crane's puppy show event or other some other lame community centrepiece. So, I'll be watching but don't get killed by that arm creature thing or anything."

Admittedly, that might have been footage she would be interested in. "But I guess I'll hear about you either way."

"All right, see you around then." She gave him a lift of her chin as her information farewell and made her way out of the bar.

Dai shakes his head at the strange encounter, finishes his can of White Wolf, and makes his way somewhere nicer.
