Pear Blossom dome is one of the many, nearly identical, habitation blocks reserved for the countless ji-samurai and skilled heimin that live on World of Dreams. Cheaply constructed almost a century ago and covered with decades of soot, the buildings which make up the 71st habitation district have seen better days. Various propaganda posters cover poorly lit walls, reminding the population of the importance of recycling and the grim fate that awaits any and all dissidents. Yet among all the propaganda, several commercials for various shows and plays can be seen, World of Dreams providing various forms of entertainment even for the downtrodden masses.

The ji-samurai avoid loitering on streets, preferring to gather in the air-conditioned cheap sake and tea houses that can be found scattered across the vast habitation district. Most of these small establishments tend to cater for their regular customers and off-district clientele are bound to get a weird look or two. Only the most skilled heimin workers are given housing within this district and never within the same building as samurai, with most unskilled heimin workers and eta living in massive underground complexes beneath the city.
