[D10, LE] A little drake told me...

It was starting to get late and the shadows were lengthening...the perfect time for an opportunistic ronin on the hunt. Time to get to work and see if this is worth it...and maybe I can earn a vacation. Akuta sat at the entrance to an alleyway between the habitation blocks, waiting for his target to wander on by...a Dragon he'd been watching for most of the day who didn't seem particularly observant. Hopefully his target was coming home after a long day of partying and be drunk, or perhaps just simply exhausted from a long day and more pliable. Here we go...

As the Dragon wandered into view, Akuta gave a wave of his hand with a smile, putting on a friendly face as he steps out from the alleyway, trying his best to not look like he was waiting there. "Oi, Dragon-sama...you're looking like you could use some color to brighten up this grey place and I know just the place to find some paint and some canvases. Maybe do some fingerpainting and see what art you can make, eh?"

Kitsuki Dare

The Dragon seemed wary at first. Who was this person coming here out of the blue?

But he'd been working here for quite some time, and his house did seem awfully grey. It could do with some dragon green, right?

"Oh... well, I do like Dragon motifs.", he finally answered. "Is that place far? Would it open now?"

He understood why the Dragon might be suspicious, but it looked like he had him on the line now. He motioned for the Dragon to follow him. "Nah, not far. Maybe 10 minutes." He wandered on off down an alleyway towards a small shopping area in the dome.

"Open all day every day. Good little shop run by sweet old lady. Been doing it for years. Think she used to be a graffiti artist back when she wasn't a bundle of wrinkles, but still got a good sense for color. Has her daughter running it when she's too tired or busy. Whole family business shtick. I think some of the heimin working with the maskers stop in for paint when they're doing maintenance work."

After turning down another particularly alley that he knew to be a dead end, Akuta paused just inside the entry and waited for the Dragon to pass him and get blocked in. His pleasant demeanor melted away and he fixed the Dragon with the Steely Glare(tm). "Bad bit of luck though, Dragon-sama. See, I don't mind showing you where the shop is...but you need to pay the toll coming through these alleyways. So, here's what is going to happen. If you want to walk out of here with your kneecaps and fingers intact, you're going to let me in on what the Dragon are up to this Winter Court...after all, I'm sure you're full of enlightening bits of info, eh?"

His hand moves to rest on the hilt of his katana, to emphasize the point.

Kitsuki Dare

The Kitsuki's eyes widen somewhat. It had seemed a bit too good to be true.

But he did want these colours now... and his kneecaps, of course.

"R...right. Right. So... do I get the paint for free, then, at least?", he said, trying to sound funny - which was maybe a bit hard with his teeth chattering quite a bit.

"So, well you see, eh, so there's these things we're focusing on, given the whole situation with the Unicorn, see..." he looks around. "Maybe we could at least continue the talk somewhere else? I seem to be in the way..."

Scared Kitsuki noises

"I'm happy to hear that you're willing to be so forthcoming, Dragon-sama. Truly, the Dragon are wise in all of the ways of the world."

As the Kitsuki's teeth chatter on and his voice drops, Akuta walks over and places an arm around his shoulder, patting him as he does so. "Oh, of course Dragon-sama. We're just going to have our chat on the way...I assure you, it is quite private in these alleyways. And of course, I wouldn't want to deprive Dragon-sama of the fine colors available. After all, having spent my life on this planet and seeing grey and red everywhere, I'd want a splash of some green. What's your name, anyway?"

And Akuta will trail off with the poor intimidated Kitsuki, having their conversation until they reach the paint shop, where he'll graciously oblige the fellow with a whole koku to buy whatever palette for his apartment that he wanted.

The Kitsuki readily gave Akuta his name, as well as a fair amount of inside info on what the Dragon had been doing. He also thanks Akuta for his "kindness", gladly taking the Koku in paint.

At least he'd have his colours....
