Very belatedly a very mischievous smirk came to Hinata's face.

"Oh . . . OH!!!! Well it was a very public place, Miya-samaaaaaa! I prefer more direct . . . err . . . actions . . . in a private setting."

"!!!" Hinata suddenly had Nishida's undistracted attention, "Uhm ,really?" he asked, rather unsure

He may not be a trained Artisan, but he spent three quarters of the year sharing space, and often rooms with three Academy Boys and a Daidoji trained dancer . . . discretion was drummed into him.

"Well here is even more public. There's a time and place and I was taught Scorpion parties were absolutely the wrong of both . . . . or was it bpth are wrong at a Scorpion party or . . . . "

"Scorpio parties are kind of both, the right place at the right time, but also not at the same time." he said smiling, "I guess that's the concept, create as much confusion as possible."

At all levels, he thought to himself.

"Sooooo,.... um.... do you want to maybe,...I don't know,... go out for tea?" he asked.

It had certainly worked on Hinata, thinking was taxing for him at the best of times never mind on a confusing subject to start with. Luckily Nishida had simpler questions for him.

"Oh sure! I'd love to, Miya-samaaaaa!!!!"

"That's,... nice" he said and smiled, slowly his self-consciousness coming back. With a mask, everything was actually much easier. Nishida now understood a little more why the Scorpions insisted on wearing them all the time.

"I, uh, think I need to cool off again, do you want to come?" he asked, pointing his thumb over his shoulder at the water.

While with Hinata, what you saw was what you got . . . to a certain degree at least.

"Oh yes!!!! I came here to swim but then I got distracted by the ice cream!!! Thank you for the reminder!!!"

Nishida was still convinced that Hinata had a sophisticated persona to lull people, but Nishdia didn't need to know the truth.

"Well then, let's not waste time, eh?"

Hinata grinned, fuelled by extra sugar.

"Oh yes. Race you!!!!!"

And he set off at a sprint . . . but with short legs it wasn't that hard to catch up.
