This Is An Emergency (D10, LM)

As the nun left her alone for a moment, Yakumo spent the time focusing herself - meditating of sorts on the tenets of Shourido, for she would need to remember them if she was to confront a darkness like this.

She needed to Control the situation, ensuring the desired outcome; she needed to be Insightful, to not be caught unawares; Knowledge was a given against something unknown; Strength to not falter in the face of danger. The Will and Determination to succeed, and the Perfection to bring it all together.

"Father, my ancestors," she murmured closing her eyes together in a fervent prayer, "I will prove that I am worthy of your blood, your lineage, your blessings."

The young woman would return sometime later, smiling as she entered the room. She would lay a katana wrapped in yellow cloth on the table alongside with a small antique lantern and oversized gun. Finally, she would dig a small brooch from her pocket, handing it out to Yakumo. "Now let me explain..."

Yakumo listened devoutedly to the nun's explanations and instructions, focusing the most she ever had on anything spiritual in her entire life.

They had a plan, they had aids from the Fortunes. Least she could do today was to spend the next several hours at this shrine, doing her work for the Dark Fortunes to show she was truly worthy of their gifts and blessings.

For the rest of the afternoon, Yakumo would spend her time giving help to the visitors of the shrine, speaking comfort and reciting the texts of prayers for the less fortunate ones. Bringing them into the protective circle of the Dark Fortunes. Just as she hoped to be.
