[Dai]

Timing had left Dai between hovels for a few days, places willing to put up ronin being few and far between even when they did have koku, so Dai was once again throwing himself on the mercy of the faithful. This was sadly not an uncommon experience for the young delver. He'd tried both temples over the years and found that he had a choice between shadowy and creepy or... creepy and shadowy. In the end though he tended to prefer rooming at Shosuro's temple. Better to be surrounded by sneaky priests than potentially desperate addicts if the latter were to relapse - the former at least simply keep him on his toes at worst.

Still he knew better than to leave anything truly sensitive in the small cell he had been granted and his holorecorders and other electronics were snugly in place as he exited the cell into the temple proper.

The next stop on her mornings routine. The morning was for reverence to the tiny Spider girl after all, and this particular temple while not one she would have visited at any other place is one of significance to this world.

And so, the little Spider, not bothered at all by the chosen style of temple having seen far darker and scarier temples back home, made her way in with a smile and looked around to find somewhere to offer respect.

[Dai]

Seeing the nearby samurai as he exited the cell he bows deeply, "Ohayo, Spider-sama, welcome to the Temple of Shosuro."

It would be hard to confuse the two temples, and the Spider did not look like an idiot, so he went with the assumption that she was where she intended to be.

[Susumu Sumiko]

Sumiko paused, and looked to the voice that spoke before bowing.

"Good morning! Thank you, are you one of the...ah, you can't be, forgive me" she smiled "I'm quite a new arrival, I assume you know the temple well?"

[Dai]

"You're correct, I am no monk, just temporarily enjoyin' their hospitality. I'm Dai, Delvin' Dai they call me." He offers a smile and another shorter bow, "As for the temple I know it pretty well, yeah, though sometimes I think they rearrange and move stuff around just to seem mysterious."

"Delvin' Dai? Where do you Delve, Delvin' Dai-san" Sumiko said with a smile chuckle "I am Susumu Sumiko. I don't really have a nickname, sorry"

She looked back at the temple with a curious look.

"Hmm, I see. I was just doing my morning prayers, would you care to join me? I'm sure the Fortunes would be pleased with you offering thanks."

[Dai]

"Urban exploration... though I picked up the nickname once I started broadcastin' trips into the Desolation." As for prayer he wasn't much of one for faith but it never hurt to have some spiritual aid especially when trying to hide from, or outrun, gaki. Plus it tended to be wise not to say no to samurai unless they were askin' something illegal... well illegal without the right compensation at least.

"Sure, I can find the time to pray."

[Susumu Sumiko]

"Did you say the Desolation? I read about that, is it truly as bad as it's made out to be? There was a warning about avoiding it, but if you're broadcasting trips it can't be quite that bad right?"

Sumiko smiled, nodding as she walked into the temple, keeping at the pace of the much taller Ronin as she lead them in.

"You'll have to let me know where is best to go."

[Dai]

"Oh, it is, not many people want to watch a ronin do somethin' safe after all. There are prettier and more influential people for that sort of thing."

He leads her to one of the edges of the main shrine of the temple, where the depth of incense is shallower... and a wall is to the back in case of surprise monks.

"I prefer being able to breathe so I aim for the outside edges. Though I suppose that's more personal taste."

There was a tilt of the head.

"So you record yourself or live stream? Going into the Desolation to see what's there. What's there? I've heard things but never actually seen it and I bet there's lots of undiscovered technologies there. I'd love to see it! I study a lot of different things, and alien technologies are somewhat a speciality of the Spider as well."

There was a nod at the comment on breathing.

"I always feel that paying proper respects requires being closer to the heart, but if it's too much I understand. The shrine is fascinating in design."

[Dai]

"Record. to edit out the dead parts, few people want an hour of me walking around looking under debris. Plus the Scorpion don't let it on the net proper. Word of mouth and data disc only." He chuckles then remembers he's supposed to be praying - prayers he very much needs even if he doesn't yet know it, "There's lots of whizz stuff... and lots of danger. Makes for a great show but I don't recommend it for sightseeing."

[Susumu Sumiko]

"I'm a researcher and a historian, so scholar pursuits are my kind of sightseeing Dai-san" Sumiko smiled, then added "maybe we can discuss more in a moment, allow me to offer my prayers."

With that she found her way forward, kneeling and silently offering prayers.

[Dai]

Dai nods and silently joins her though his attempts at prayer are faulty at best. Still, little did he know, they might just be what saved his skin for another day.

Sumiko remained still in prayer, no reactions to the world around her at all until she finished and rose.

"Thank you Dai-san" she said quietly, bowing to the man "shall we go outside and converse somewhere more comfortable for yourself?"

[Dai]

The ronin nods, "Certainly, Susumu-sama, if only so we do not disturb others."

[Susumu Sumiko]

Sumiko nodded, leading the man outside to a quieter part. Not walking quickly, as she admired the design of the building. Once they were outside she spoke again.

"So you explore dangerous areas as part of a show? I'm very new to the city, so I've not heard of the show unfortunately. However I am interested in learning more about the areas and what they hold. Do you have a special licence that allows just you to enter, or are you able to bring others? I'm certain with my vast knowledge I could help you learn what's out there, which in turn could help your shows."

[Dai]

He nods, "No surprise you haven't heard of it. The Scorpion aren't going to let ronin entertainment on the public net unless they're runnin' it. It's word of mouth and passed around data disks. As for the Desolation... yeah, you need an excavation permit to get in. They're pricey but I have a hookup if you ever needed one. I'm not exaggeratin' about the dangers though. All sorts of ghosts and weirdness."

[Susumu Sumiko]

"I'm not so concerned about dangers, that's why you'll be there right?" Sumiko grinned "although pricy you say? Dai-san must be doing well for himself if he's able to afford these. I may have to take you up on this. I'll at least need to watch your shows though right, do you have any with you?"

[Dai]

"I'll be full honest with ya, Susumu-sama, the only protection I'll be providin' is if you run faster than I do. I'm a scrapper when I need to, sure, but a pistol ain't doin' much against an angry ghost." He shrugs in a way that is almost apologetic then pats various pockets, "Fresh out... but I'm plannin' a run tonight. If it's show worthy I'll likely have somethin' put together by tomorrow afternoon."

"Hm, well ok then. Tomorrow afternoon it is! Will you likely be here again or do you want to meet somewhere in the city? Could try out one of the cafes " Sumiko offered with a nod "and of course if you don't turn up I'll know something bad happened and can come find you."
