[Yoritomo Seika]

((Expecting, but open.))

Seika is up with the dawn to greet the Sun--in this case Bayushi's Eye, though some of her Moshi sensei could argue for hours about whether all suns past and present are just emanations of the true Jade Sun. After completing her devotions on the sun deck of the House of Storms, she finds herself faced with a decision about what to do with herself in the early hours in a city that stays awake all night but seems to be correspondingly snoozy in the morning.

Well, she'd meant to see the temples. And you know who usually does wake up early? Monks, that's who. Indeed, the doors of Shosuro's house prove to be open now, even when many of the restaurants she drives past on the way are still shuttered.

Seika explores the outer court a bit, then enters the main hall to make a polite offering of incense. Not her ancestor, but she was raised to be a good guest.

[Yogo Ono]

He started his day with a cup of sake and a prayer to Bishamon-no-kami. Then he rolled a cigar, which he smoked as he idly stared out of his window towards the garden. He drew his last sip, and checked himself on a mirror, making sure that none of his white spots were visible. He wasn't satisfied. He shrugged and prayed to the air kami. Once the air kami did their little miracle and his appearance was more acceptable he left his room.

He strolled through the corridors and got to the main temple, where he prostrate himself in front of the statue of Lady Shosuro. When done, he got up. The cacophony of green caught his eyes. He looked closer and smiled as he approached her.

"Blessings of the kami, Mantis-sama, to you and yours. Did you have rice today?"

Having bowed properly and planted her incense offering into the burner, Seika dusts her hands on her clothing and turns aside. "Oh, hi. Um, good morning, Scorpion-san. It was breadfruit fritters, actually, but close enough. The embassy cook comes from Dawn so she does 'Moshi day' every few weeks, apparently." Seika's painted lips quirk.

"And, um, how about you?"

Moshi day? Ivindi dishes? He almost blinked in disbelief but he managed to maintain his on, or at least he thought he did.

[OOC: It doesn't really matter (you could probably break a 21 TN). But in any case, It depends on whether Mask of Wind can negate Disturbing Countenance. I am not sure it does myself, since there is an Air 4 spell that specifically does that. I am gonna ask GMs for their opinion.

"And, um, how about you?"

"I am used to having breakfast after praying." He informed her, "So I haven't yet. I intended to invite you to join me in my favorite noodle bar, in case you had no other plans, but I suppose a walk in the gardens would be a better fit, since you have eaten."

"You had?" Seika cocks her head up at the even-more-ominously-masked-than-average Scorpion. "Pretty generous, since you don't even know my name yet." Her bold-painted lips quirk as she makes a shallow bow. "Yoritomo Seika, Watanabe Properties Flarenet division management."

"And hey, I wouldn't want to keep a, uh...." mentally, she tests the sound of--and discards--several possible descriptors before picking the true-neutral option," ... a samurai from his breakfast. It's the most important meal of the day. I'm not too hungry, but I could tag along."

Mantis have some south/southeast Asian flair even in 'standard' Rokugan, and in the spacefaring future the Rokugani have the whole biome of their planet to draw on rather than just the old historical borders of Rokugan, so I figured they wouldn't grow exclusively temperate zone crops.

"I hoped that as a servant of the kami, you would understand that in the large scheme of things, your current name is irrelevant. As is mine. Our reality is merely an illusion we enforce on the cosmos so that we manage to make sense of it." He explained.

"I would be most interested in your future names or titles or job descriptions. Those mean something." He added.

Her bold-painted lips quirk as she makes a shallow bow. "Yoritomo Seika, Watanabe Properties Flarenet division management."

"I stand astonished, Lady Yoritomo of your impeccable taste in face paint. Would you mind discussing what cosmetic products you used?"

"Splendid." He commented and smiled.
