“I'm very sure my combo inputs are just fine, it must be a faulty machine," she said dismissively on the matter. "It's probably lucky that I haven't decided to lay a few shots on my own to straighten it out. Anyway, I'm not sour about it at all, just disappointed."

Eriko turned her attention to the tickets and the potential prizes at hand. She smiled eagerly at Hide. "Hey! Looks like we tied at the very least. Now, with this many tickets together, you can legitimately get some really dumb ideas happening," she said as she gazed over to the board and a few gears were turning in her head.

Hide couldn’t help but take that as a challenge, so she glanced towards the prize counter and smirked. “Could always get that skimpy figurine.”

[Bayushi Mariko]

After a passable effort, Mariko was more or less done with her time at the arcades. She looked about and considered tossing away her earned 200 tickets but the littering signs around the arcade indicated that they were going to be more strict with enforcement. The multiple cameras in the building discouraged that idea.

She let out a disappointed sigh and held up her tickets. "Tickets, anyone?"

[Matsu Eriko]

Hide couldn’t help but take that as a challenge, so she glanced towards the prize counter and smirked. “Could always get that skimpy figurine.”

"Really-really?" Eriko would shoot Hide an incredulous stare before she gave her a quick bump with her elbow. "You don't strike me as a figurine collector in the slightest, Hide. Besides, that thing looks like a darned knockoff. It's no good to anyone! And here I was thinking we could get a pet...or more responsibly we could not get a pet and consider doing a photoshoot instead, that would be a real dumb idea."

[Kuni Koyuki]

Koyuki wasn't currently on the main floor, but it was possible that could change shortly. At the moment though, she was inside one of the smaller of the women's restrooms dotted around the building. In here, it was small enough that she felt no discomfort when she propped up a trashbin against the door to block anyone from coming in unless they really wanted to. Sitting on the countertop of sinks with her inhalator in hand. Having, at some point over these last few days, given up the idea of quitting. Taking full lungs of a hit from the small device as she counts the different markings worked into the ceiling above.

[Matsu Hide]

"Really-really?" Eriko would shoot Hide an incredulous stare before she gave her a quick bump with her elbow. "You don't strike me as a figurine collector in the slightest, Hide. Besides, that thing looks like a darned knockoff. It's no good to anyone! And here I was thinking we could get a pet...or more responsibly we could not get a pet and consider doing a photoshoot instead, that would be a real dumb idea."

“I was joking. Not really a collector of things like that.”Hide did have to wonder how Eriko could tell that it was a bootleg. She knew that she would never be able to tell. “I mean the pet is an amusing idea… But yeah. That photoshoot thing has costumes and themes. That’s a real fun dumb idea.”

[Soshi Kioku]

Yesugen glanced back at the Crane with a perplexed brow raise. "Hmm? What exactly are you looking for?"

To right herself, she pressed her glasses back then bowed to the Soshi. Unfortunately for her, that put her glasses in a bit of a funk again, not that she exactly needed them to see. "Utaku Yesugen." She gestured to Hinata to allow him to speak for himself.

Further explanation was required and she had a brilliant keikaku. Yesugen placed the shark between her knees; rested her left hand, palm up, on top of it; and shaped her right hand much like the claw. "Like so." Her right hand plucked up the left and flung it aside.

"Oh the prize stall, Utaku-samaa! I wanted to see what else was available for these tickets."

Fortunately he was only confused for a second or two before realising he was to introduce himself.

"Oh I'm Asahina Hinata, pleased to meet you Soshi-samaaa!"

And then the cunning plans at removing toys from the claw grab. Hinata knew better than to add anything to this conversation. He'd once wasted a month's stipend on a similar machine and been shouted at a lot by a great many people, so he didn't go near them usually.

She bowed to the Unicorn and Crane again. "Please to meet you both, Asahina-sama, Utaku-san!", she says again somewhat awkwardly.

Did she recognise the Asahina from somewhere?.... Wait, was he in Usagi Drop? He... was, right? She didn't see that much of them, but she often found Omoi would probably enjoy them if she...

A melancholy cloud again. She shakes it off, brings a half smile back to her lips, and tries to focus on the Utaku's explanation. "Oh, so... right, so try to move around the stuff on top of it so it can be reached, ne?"

She looks at the machine again. The old and somewhat battered-looking salamander is... pretty much buried under other toys. "Um. Do you think I could do it in some... three attempts, Utaku-san?" She seems to study the machine and the positions of the other toys. "Do you... think you could do it?", she asks, pressing her lips, looking almost as if in pain, if only for the shortest moment.

"Omoi-chan...", she mutters to herself, not quite noticing she's done it.

[Kitsune Kiyoshi]

"This way." Kiyoshi led the Detective to a new game, watching the monkey carefully as they whacked brightly colored moles. The pair moves from game to game, playing with or against anyone interested.

[Utaku Yesugen]

"The prize stall. Such is logical given our exchange," Yesugen said, blinking as she recalled how long those tickets had stayed in her hand. Even for her, that had seemed so awkward.

Yesugen rose the shark up in a triumphant fashion before stuffing the plush back under her arm. "It's a bit more complex than removing the most obvious obstacles. Sometimes, you must adjust the surroundings too so that the claw itself isn't hampered by the final clasp." It dawned on her then that this had been the culmination of a random, seemingly pointless escapade through various parts of the net. For once, these tidbits seemed to give her an outcome.

And then the request came. Based on their interactions thus far, Yesugen placed little faith in the Soshi. Nonetheless, she said, "I do not think victory would be as sweet if earned by another." Even though she was certain that she could totally nail getting another gift, she didn't want to degrade her self-made humility on something so inane.

The woman's attention was dedicated fully to Yesugen's explanation - even though the creasing in her brow suggested she didn't quite understand the finer details of her guidance.

As the Utaku refused her - admittedly blunt and sudden - request, she answered her with a wistful smile and a nod. "Of course, you're right, Utaku-san... this is something I should do myself." Then, somewhat more softly. "It would hardly be respectful to my daughter's spirit if I did otherwise..."

Bowing to the Utaku again, she tried her best to follow Yesugen's advice, but reaching that deeply buried salamander-like plushie still proved beyond her capabilities.

"... I failed you again, Omoi-chan...", she whispers, quite dispirited.

Soon, however, she bows to Yesugen and the Asahina again. The smile she gives them clearly hides other emotions, but it's a sincere one.

[Bayushi Senshuken]

"Well, then, I would appreciate if you could elaborate on the dedicated fan part. I was under the idea all sports had fans of the wild variety. Hooligans in ball sports, people watching oshidama for the bouncing, wrestling maniacs, etc."

"Yes," she agrees with a nod, "it is as you say, but would they follow their team to another planet if that's where the next match was to take place?" She asks but rushes to answer herself. "Motorsports are like that. It's a sport that requires funds, therefore. Even virtual sports are like that in a way. I cannot imagine the supporter of an oshidama team waiting outside the stadium from midnight till morning just to have a chance to be the very first to enter." The Bayushi offers a broad smile. "It's just an opinion, though."

[Susumu Sumiko]

Sakura looked around for a moment. Hotaru....sama?

She bowed deeply. "Good evening Susumu-saman, arigatou. We were just lucky. Susumu-sama played very well with Bayushi-san yesterday. Perhaps today the Fortunes smiled upon Susumu-sama some more?"

"If they are, it's to teach me a lesson in attachment as I failed every machine" Sumiko shook her head "I am Susumu Sumiko, it's lovely to meet you! I'm not sure I did very well in the Oshidama tournament, but it seems I did well enough for people to not realise I only learnt the rules the previous night."

There was a brief pause as her communicator went off

Yes, I didn't say that it was. Anyways, I thought that you might want to hang out. If yes, press 1. If no, press 2. In any of those cases, meet me at the Driftmaster. There will be a victory I will need to dedicate to you!

"One moment, sorry."

I'm by the entrance talking with someone.

Then put the communicator away to focus on the woman in front of her with a smile.

"Forgive me, someone was asking where I was. I spent a month or so with your kin as part of our clans increasing relationship, and I have a lot of admiration for the work your clan does. Have you been here long?"

[Hotaru Sakura]

Sakura bowed in thanks. "Do not worry about Oshidama Susumu-sama, I met Yoritomo-sama just before the tournament, so." She shrugged.

"Ah, sorry to hear! For me..I was born on this planet." She replied simply, not elaborating yet. "Ah, arigatou! The Firefly are an industrious bunch. I am glad you enjoyed your stay with us."

While Sumiko wastexting, Sakura stepped away for a moment, gesturing that she'll only be a second. Was that....BAYUSHI MARIKO?!

He listened politely to Yesugen's tactical assessment of the claw machine, not understanding a word of it, and thus totally missed all traces of Kioku being sad. He had mentally decided he wanted the other cat ears now, the ones that wiggled with your mood and maybe another spine drake plushy to go with the one he got from the Sanctuary. Oh the Sanctuary and all those animals . . .

So he had thoroughly distracted himself and phoned in this conversation.

"Oh bad luck, Soshi-samaaaa! I'm sure you'll get it next time."

[Kitsu Kanna]

"If someone has deep enough pockets and control enough over their schedule to casually hop from planet to planet for leisure, I would expect them to send a servant to queue all night in their stead honestly. You've really got that many merchant bosses, high rank officers and lords among your devoted fans?"

Kanna was doubtful. Any niche activity always appeared to have some suspiciously wealthy sponsors keeping it afloat. But emphasis on "a few" there.

[Bayushi Mariko]

Sakura bowed in thanks. "Do not worry about Oshidama Susumu-sama, I met Yoritomo-sama just before the tournament, so." She shrugged.

"Ah, sorry to hear! For me..I was born on this planet." She replied simply, not elaborating yet. "Ah, arigatou! The Firefly are an industrious bunch. I am glad you enjoyed your stay with us."

While Sumiko wastexting, Sakura stepped away for a moment, gesturing that she'll only be a second. Was that....BAYUSHI MARIKO?!

Mariko was just nonchalantly holding up her tickets for grabs when the first person who approached her was Sakura. The Scorpion believed that her current outfit was a foolproof disguise at the moment, the real Mariko wouldn't dress like she rolled out of bed just to get on her personal terminal.

She raised her brows at Sakura, looking perplexed by her attitude but presented her winnings nevertheless. "Nothing to be sorry about, Hotaru-san. Did you want these tickets?"

[Matsu Eriko]

Eriko narrowed her eyes as she looked at Hide up and down. "They have some really funny ideas for photoshoots around here, you know. And I'm calling dibs for totally not being the oiran in the set."

[Hotaru Sakura]

Mariko was just nonchalantly holding up her tickets for grabs when the first person who approached her was Sakura. The Scorpion believed that her current outfit was a foolproof disguise at the moment, the real Mariko wouldn't dress like she rolled out of bed just to get on her personal terminal.

If it is no bother...did Bayushi-sama enjoy the games? Hotaru Sakura, of the Firefly." She added meekly, clearly starstruck.

"A fan?" Mariko said on a bemused note before her eyes widened from embarrassment with a blush creeping up on her cheeks when she realized that her disguise wasn't as clever as she thought. This was perhaps one of the days she should have worn a mask.

"...oh, I'm glad to hear, Hotaru-san. Always honoured to meet a fan." She said as she quickly mustered a smile, putting her fingers on the corners of her mouth to help accentuate that. Her agent did tell her she should learn to smile more in public. "I was just passing through and I saw the big commotion so I had to check it out. I most definitely had some fun. I like to watch the claw machines but they're harder than they look. I'll just stick to Meido Souls."

"Arigatou! I will cherish this for sure!" She almost squeeled, before realizing Mariko might not want a commotion so quieted down. "Ah, I see. The Claw machine is a scam, certainly Fight for Glory is always a good standby, thought it betrayed me today." She glanced around. "Meido Souls, eh? A classic." She nodded enthusiastically. "Are there other games Bayushi-sama enjoys?"

“Oiran?” It took a good few moments for Hide to go from a bit confused to fully processing what Eriko just said. With a slight red tinge to her cheeks, her eyes has gotten a bit wide. “Waaaait. What kind of theme are these costume shoots anyway?”
