"No, no, forgive me." The Bayushi offers a half smile. "This has been terribly impolite of me. I'm all yours now.'

"Heeey there!" Eriko would slide up beside Hide once she found her wife meandering around the arcades looking uncertain with a lot of tickets on her. She took a few slurps of her soft drink in hand before flashing a grin at her. "It looks like you've done a pretty good job there. Maybe a few short on some of the frames of getting some juggles together. I'm not so sure, I only consider myself a bit of a Togashi-Kami champ."

Hide glanced over to her wife as she slid in, smile having suddenly appeared on her face. “I played IV as a kid a lot with my brothers. So, got any suggestions for my tickets here?”

Eriko playfully tapped her foot against Hide's foot. "I hope you weren't saving all of that for just me. You should know that I'm not that high-maintenance of a gal. You should just get whatever you want. I mean, sure, I wouldn't mind at least one of those tiny plushies to put on my shoulder but I'm thinking about hitting the machines to see what they hit back with anyway. Is there a military pecking order in the Lion? Would Akodo Reki-sama over there get first dibs?"

"Well, then, I would appreciate if you could elaborate on the dedicated fan part. I was under the idea all sports had fans of the wild variety. Hooligans in ball sports, people watching oshidama for the bouncing, wrestling maniacs, etc."

“I don’t think military pecking order applies to visits to the arcade.” Hide tapped on the table with her fingers as she stared down at her tickets. “I think I’m gonna get something real dumb. So… Any games you have your eye on trying?”

"That's true but it might be worthwhile to ask her anyway. Or any Lion. Hey, now that I think about it, I haven't seen too many of them in the city but they likely haven't seen too much of me." She shrugged at that. "What sort of dumb. Are we talking about silly or 'you're not coming home with that' dumb? As for me, I'm thinking of putting a few rounds in the First Tournament. Maybe see if the old combo still works?"

“Dumb as in… Well, one of those dumb plastic bows. I promise not to shoot at anything fragile.” Hide then had to take a moment to correct herself. “Well… On purpose. Anyway, totally try it out. First Tournament, that is. It might take a round to get back into things, though.”

"Such an adorable shark. He looks like a winner, not a consolation!!"

Was this a gifting ceremony and hence the second refusal, or was he just an idiot?

"I wonder if the sanctuary here has any sharks?"

The good money was on the latter.

"The shark did require many maneuvers to acquire." Exactly two, actually, though with that accursed claw, it had definitely been an ordeal to secure the plushy. "I cannot say if there are many sharks. I suppose getting something related to the local fauna would've been more relevant, though that's easily purchasable by money."

Yesugen tapped her chin in thought, inadvertently brushing the tickets against herself. "Ah, but first, the tickets." She held them out... again.

Still eyeing the Claw machines, Kioku sees the woman who managed to get a shark plushie. Seeing her talk to a Crane, she keeps coy to the sides for a while, but eventually approaches them.

"Ah... Samurai-sama", the older woman asks, shyly. "Excuse me, might I... uh... ask for a few tips?" - pointing the Claw Machine with her head.

[Utaku Yesugen]

"Oh I often have to wear bunny ears and a wireless mike for hours during a concert. These can't be heavier than that can they?"

He couldn't see the prize stall from where he was, even on tip toes.

"Ah, yes, I wouldn't think of it as heavy. More... clasped around your head." Yesugen shrugged. "We're all acclimated to different things, assuredly."

She looked about, also struggling a bit due to her own height. "Something the matter?"

Still eyeing the Claw machines, Kioku sees the woman who managed to get a shark plushie. Seeing her talk to a Crane, she keeps coy to the sides for a while, but eventually approaches them.

Apparently, the issue was sudden Scorpion. So much paranoia and she hadn't prepared for this one's approach. Yesugen's eyes widened for a moment before she composed herself. "Oh. Yes." She held up the shark, smirked, suppressed that, then put the shark underneath her arm again. "Yes. To try three times for the quarry is folly. Instead... well, it's not exactly setting up traps. More like... moving things aside so that they'll be vulnerable?"

She sighed. Metaphors weren't in her repertoire. "I used my first two attempts to move around other prizes."

"Ah, yes, I wouldn't think of it as heavy. More... clasped around your head." Yesugen shrugged. "We're all acclimated to different things, assuredly."

He listened to Yesugen's explanation.

"Oh how clever, Utaku-samaa!!"

Ah... preparing the terrain for a well-readied strike, then. She had heard something like that quite a few times, I fact. Just... not applied to Claw Machines.

She nodded, both in acknowledgment and in thanks, then eyed the Claw machine which had an odd and apparently old multicoloured salamander near the bottom, possibly forgotten there for the best part of five or more years. Before she actually says anything, she remembers herself and bows.

"Oh.. my apologies for the sudden approach!", she then says hearing the Asahina's words. "Soshi Kioku, researcher at the Sanctuary. Pleased to meet you, Asahina-sama! And thanks for your tips, Unicorn-sama!", she says somewhat awkwardly. It's clear she doesn't feel quite in her element there, but she seems resolute on... something.

Pointing towards the multicoloured salamander and sideeying some Yukumo dolls while at it, she addresses the Unicorn again. "Ah... if you allow me asking... how would you go about preparing the terrain to reach that one?"

Realistically... with how deep down it was, it wouldn't be easy. But maybe...

Yesugen glanced back at the Crane with a perplexed brow raise. "Hmm? What exactly are you looking for?"

To right herself, she pressed her glasses back then bowed to the Soshi. Unfortunately for her, that put her glasses in a bit of a funk again, not that she exactly needed them to see. "Utaku Yesugen." She gestured to Hinata to allow him to speak for himself.

Further explanation was required and she had a brilliant keikaku. Yesugen placed the shark between her knees; rested her left hand, palm up, on top of it; and shaped her right hand much like the claw. "Like so." Her right hand plucked up the left and flung it aside.

[Mirumoto Shigure]

Shigure walked about with his little plastic flute playing a merry tune. He has some tickets to spare.

[Asahina Hinata]

"Oh the prize stall, Utaku-samaa! I wanted to see what else was available for these tickets."

Fortunately he was only confused for a second or two before realising he was to introduce himself.

"Oh I'm Asahina Hinata, pleased to meet you Soshi-samaaa!"

And then the cunning plans at removing toys from the claw grab. Hinata knew better than to add anything to this conversation. He'd once wasted a month's stipend on a similar machine and been shouted at a lot by a great many people, so he didn't go near them usually.

Anyway, I think I'm going to give it a try. Can't let you have all the fun, right? I recall I had a pretty mean arm at Asakaze and you have pretty good arms for carrying all my prizes!"

“You might find it a little more dumb when I start playing with it.” Hide smirked, her gaze falling on the machines for First Tournament. “Let’s see how well you can re-learn combos on the fly before we picture me as a pack mule again. Though I have no doubt you can get some tickets.”

"Just don't do it during meetings or around the cat and I think we'll be okay. Of course, what's yours is also mine." She smirked, wondering how much a good shot she would be with a bow and arrow now.

With that, Eriko ducked out to have some fun with the games. True to her word, it seemed she did pretty well in the First Tournament VI. Of course, that wasn't going to stop her from being a sore winner.

"Not bad, huh? I still can't believe they change the combo on me. I spent all those hours playing to get it right. Heck, I'm sure I could dial the combo faster than my sensei's number." She sighed on a disappointing note.

“Hey, practice with the new combo inputs. We’re gonna be here a good while… So we can always come back.” Hide eyed Eriko’s tickets and then her own. “Hey… I think we got the same amount.”

"I'm very sure my combo inputs are just fine, it must be a faulty machine," she said dismissively on the matter. "It's probably lucky that I haven't decided to lay a few shots on my own to straighten it out. Anyway, I'm not sour about it at all, just disappointed."

Eriko turned her attention to the tickets and the potential prizes at hand. She smiled eagerly at Hide. "Hey! Looks like we tied at the very least. Now, with this many tickets together, you can legitimately get some really dumb ideas happening," she said as she gazed over to the board and a few gears were turning in her head.
