[D3, LE]-A Night at the Multiplex (Expecting)

Yamako loved all sorts of different media, but for some reason, nothing drew her quite like movies and shows. While Life of a Togashi was over, she had a distinct weakness for any type of visual media and movies such as Brotherhood of Swords were perfect for relaxing the mind after a hard day of being a diplomat. She stood in snack line, pondering what delicious treats she would enjoy.

Behind her, Yamako heard an unexpected voice. Perhaps not the most familiar, but recognizable. "Oh, is that you? Ide Yamako-san, from the cat cafe?"

She turned, slightly embarrassed but also back in her diplomat skin. "Oh Akodo-san. It is good to see you again. I hope you are well?"
Memo to self: do some kind of exposure therapy with cute things so you can stop embarrassing yourself in front of others. Or something. Dark sunglasses maybe?

He nodded with a small smile. "I am. I've been looking forward to Brotherhood of Swords 2 for a while, and it's a relatively quiet day. I hope you are, as well?"

She smiled broadly at his statement. "I am well and have also been looking forward to this. Do you have a favorite character in the series?" She asks as she places an order for a rather impressive amount of snacks.

He considered the question. "Hmm... Well, there's a character from the source material. But that would be a spoiler, wouldn't it? Have you read the light novels?" He raised his eyebrows at the snacks. "Someone waiting in the theater? I wouldn't want to interrupt."

Her eyes brighten. “Yes, yes I have. They really enhance the story. But oh…who is it? There are so many amazing characters to choose from.”
Seeing his confusion, she shakes her head. “Oh no, just me and my snacks. You are welcome to join me, if you can stand my occasional comments during the movie. They drive my husband mad, especially if I have seen it and he hasn’t.”

"Kitsuki Kazuhiro," He admitted, looking to the side a little. Maybe he was a little more pink for a moment? But it disappeared before it had much of a chance to appear. "I admire his dedicationto his ideals, even under duress. Plus, he brought a mystery element to the series I liked." He looked very serious for a moment, as if imitating the character. "'There is only one truth.'" Then he chuckled.
He grabbed a snack and turned to follow. "Not at all. It'll be fun watching with someone who's read the source material. Who's your favorite?"

THAT IS ADORABLE! She screams inside her head.
Externally, she says. "I cannot lie, Soshi Katsumi is....so compelling. You cannot help but watch their actions and listen to their words. It is as if they take up the whole of the screen when they arrive. They have such presence. It makes me wonder what the actor is like in real life."

He nodded. "I'm looking forward to seeing them in action... I haven't seen it yet, so it's pretty exciting." He nodded to the doors. "Shall we find our seats, Ide-san?"

She nods. "Yes, do you have a preferred location you like to sit?"

"Around dead center, if possible. I used to like sitting right up front as a kid, but that's a little much for me now," he replied, looking amused as he heads toward the doors.

"That works for me. I like the back, but its more fun to have someone sit with."

"We can go to the back. I'm easy," he shrugged, turning up the aisle once they get into the theater. Fortunately, there weren't many people in it with the fireworks show just earlier.

She gives a short bow. "I appreciate your consideration. With this one being so short, being in the back is sometimes a saving grace against someone's head blocking the way."
They find a set of seats in the dead center of the back and she sits, setting her drink and arranging her tray of snacks.
"Is this a favorite series of yours or do you have another or others you prefer?"

"Ah, I didn't even think of that. My apologies, Ide-san." Well, he was nearly 6 feet himself, so it made sense, but still...
"Hmm... It's enjoyable, though it's not my top favorite. If I had to pick one, I suppose... The Void Dragon's Blessing? Though it took some liberties with theology that not all the reviewers appreciate."

She waves his concern aside. “It is no problem Akodo-san. And I don’t think I saw that one! I could imagine it had some complexities to it.” She popped some of her snack into her mouth as the previews began to scroll.
