"Unicorn boots in a Scorpion shop? How I could I not check this out!" Ryuhei exclaimed, and waltzed into the Sole Hero to see if leather footwear around here was authentic. He wanted something black, sheeny, and metal-studded, obviously.

Today was shopping day. He hated to admit that but he had started enjoying those days. It all started when he adopted TamTam. She found it strange when he suggested it, but he perceived it as a father's duty to get his daughter shopping once every fifteen days. So he rode his skateboard to the mall that TamTam had suggested for today. Jun managed to get some sick shots of him on their way.

He got there and started looking for her. She had said something about boots... Yes, Sole Hero. He stopped his skateboard and looked around.

So, every two weeks, starting shortly after her adoption, her father insists on taking her shopping. Now, she has come to be convinced that due to that damnable curse the Yogo family is the absolute, galaxy-wide champion of dysfunctional families. Seriously, in that regard there is no competition to speak of.

So, anyway, awkward. Still, you know, he pays for it all. Not just the shopping but her mom, sister and brother as well. Hence, smile and bear it. Especially as he got it in his head to get in on the whole social media game. Not that he can even turn on an electronic device to save his life, so he had to hire someone for that, and, for real, skating? That is so last century! Then again, so is he...

Anyway, he can pretend to have a successful channel by leeching on her followers and they can see she is dutiful daughter because, you know, the cringe is real, so, win-win all-around.

"Honoured father!" She gestures at the Sole Hero, one of the few shops in the mall worth visiting, and beams a bright smile at Jun (and the camera). "Yes, this is the place. They've got a great collection here, from classical to the exotic. You can find some unique stuff here!"

Tamiyo nods and mutters an 'arigato' as her father holds open the door and strides over to the geta.

"Well, first you could use new sandals." She picks up a pair and holds them out. "How about these?"

Her eyes widen as she spots what she really brought him here for, hurrying to another part of the shop.

"And since you are being all sporty lately, nothing beats the Unicorn stuff. Check this out!"

Nearby at the Unicorn shelves, another Scorpion, loose-haired, full-masked, leather-clad, and rather jacked up, was investigating those.

She nods approvingly at the other Scorpion. She glances at the man, than at her father. Isn't he the husband of one of his dad's friends?

"Good choice, Bayushi-san. Those definitely are quite eye-catching! Say, I believe we have met, have we not? I am Yogo Tamiyo."

Just a bit farther, in the women's section, is a pair that makes her gasp and just seems to scream 'buy me'.

"Daddy dearest?" Her best weapons-grade big-eyed anime look gets shamelessly employed against her father as she holds up her newest acquisition...

TamTam said something but Ono wasn't listening. He was oblivious of his surroundings. He was experiencing one of those moments that the Celestial Heavens have decided to bless you more than you deserved, that was depicted in manga with drooling faces and huge eyes, that nerds have dubbed nerdgasm and some weirdo Asahina described as enlightenment.

He had to possess these shoes.

"Oh, maybe!" The big man replied, having investigated the sole of the chosen footwear. "I am Bayushi... Ryuhei. Yeah, that's me now! And the boots, yeah, they're quite metal."

The name made him return to reality.

He turned to the Bayushi. "Bayushi-sama, may the winds always be on your back." He greeted him and bowed, mostly to avoid getting a handshake or worse by the filthy Moto.

"This one is Yogo Ono, a servant of the kami. Your wife and my little brother were close." He smirked.

" That one, is my daughter, Yogo Tamiyo. Given your taste in boots, I am confident that you will like her music as much as I do."

"I wouldn't know about that, but it's nice to be close for those people who are!" The man laughed. "Nice to meet you, friendly Yogo people. So, music? What kind of? Is it something heavy and bass-thick?"

Ono instructed Jun to assist Tamiyo in dealing with the purchases. He checked that his daughter was out of hearing distance, he used his fan to add to the privacy of the conversation.

"Actually I was being sarcastic, her music is painfully even to my ears and I am her father." He admitted.

"On the other hand, I have some weird friends who have something they call post-Meido Grindcore. I could bring you in touch with them. DO you play any instrument?"

"I do, and I'd like to meet them." Ryuhei replied outright. "I'd like to connect with the local scene, see what they're about."

"I will try to set that up." He promised and seeing that Tam had finished with payinh, he bowed.

"Bayushi-sama, it has been a pleasure. I hope you will excuse me."
