She looks over them all. “I could see the red blouse
working, particularly if you decide to stay in scorpion territory. The sunflowers aren’t edgy but they might be perfect for a date or for a meeting that requires less edge.”

She pulls out a gorgeous flowy purple top with wrap around ties and a demure neckline. “And this..,this would be perfect for stepping off the shuttle into unicorn lands. If that’s still of interest to you.”

She looks back at Yamako, her head cocked slightly

She shakes her head. “Do not fret about this. I have a suspicion we will find ways to be useful to each other.”

When yurei mentions shoes, she claps her hands together. “Now you’re in the spirit of it! Come, let’s grab these and head to a shoe store. There is a fantastic one here that even sells Unicorn made products!”

"Ummm, if you could select that, and that, and those two. Yes, thank you." She gestures to the attendant, a little guiltily

Yūrei's eyes widen at the mention of accessories, but she takes the bags carefully and follows the excited Unicorn to the shoe shop.

A number of heimin were helping customers while the manager, a grey haired Ide woman with a no-nonsense air observed it all.

"Maybe something with a bit of a lift? Sometimes in groups it can be hard to see since...well, Ide-sama knows how unfair things can be for more compact samurai."

Yamako ignores the trepidation of her companion, knowing the value of a proper outfit. “That was just what I was thinking. A small heel on the half boot and sturdy leather perhaps for the every day.”

She waive to the Ide woman, who recognized her from her wanderings of the mall. She came over to help them personally, as there are not many unicorn on the world of dreams. “ how can I help you today, Ide-sama? Something for you or for your companion?”

“ We’re doing a full turnout for this young woman. Will need every day boots, a set of half boots with a heel, and your best suggestions for accessories in the mall that would suit her.

Yūrei was not even remotely surprised Yamako knew the proprietor. It probably would have been stranger if she hadn't. Instead she contents herself with looking around the store she'd so often walked past.

The proprietor brought them back to a small room that was clearly mostly for stuff but offered some tea and a comfy chair. She sent a clerk to go grab some items and then bowed and left.

“ how does it feel to live life a different way? I imagine this is very different than how things usually go for you.“

"So you're stepping outside yourself and playing a role? So it is not so personal then?"
Yūrei nods
"I have done something similar, from time to time. A Scorpion would take this opportunity to lecture us at length on how wearing a mask is more honest."

She shrugs. “Scorpion have many feelings about honesty. However many masks others may wear it is important to know the truth in one’s heart of oneself and of how one feels about others.”

“To me the most important part is that whatever role I may have stepped into I’m as committed to it as if it were my constant. The situation in ways I have made for myself are real in that moment and I am as sincere in that moment as I am in my most unguarded. If that makes sense.”

"That is...interesting. It almost, and please I hope this is not too forward, but there are certain scorpion schools which teach their students to embrace a moment and situation as real regardless of the facts. Your method seems more...pure? But the comparisons are interesting."

She continues fussing slightly around Yamako, clearly trying to make herself useful
"I don't think I have the strength of character necessary? But maybe one day."

She shrugs. "I am unsure if it is more pure or less. It is merely what I have found most useful and yet sufficiently honest." She smirks a little bitterly. "And there is a reason I nearly married one. He struggled to see all of me though."

She shakes her head, looking at Yurei with an oddly affectionate look. "Sit down, really. You don't have to prove anything to me. And you don't need to be me either." She sips the tea.

"We all find our way to honor in our own way."

Yūrei bows her head and perches on the chair's arm with a little smile.
"As you say. I don't know if I could be you, but it is nice to imagine. Dressing well, forcing other samurai to take notice of me and what I wished, speaking with such sincerity they're shocked. Buying food for the hungry. It's a lovely dream."

Quietly, more to herself
"I still don't quite know where to find my own honour."

She looks like she's going to continue but then the manager bustles back in with a variety of boxes and lays them out on the table.
