Somehow, Nishdia had made it to the semifinals without having a clue about the game. Well, once the ball is rolling, don't stop, huh? So he sat down at the next table, greeted his opponent and played the game as any layman would play it, as well as he could.

It was enough. Somehow Nishida defeated a player who was clearly better than him in two out of three games. He bowed respectfully to the phoenix, but had to smile at the absurdity of the situation.

Nishida sat down at the last table, the final was coming up. The crowd must have wondered why a noob was sitting up there, but he didn't care, if asked he would only answer that it was his brilliant mind that had gotten him this far in the game. Besides, there was no Go tournament here, which he sorely missed.

He played about as one would expect a beginner to play and even looked quite satisfied, whether he would lose or win here: 2 cards would be his.

It was a bit weird to be playing against a total newbie in the final, but he had only started playing 6 months earlier so the Miya was probably a quick study. Katsutoshi bowed respectfully.

"Greetings Miya-sama, congratulations on reaching the final! Best of luck."

Unfortunately for the Imperial Katsutoshi's deck was a bit of a beast. Well, it was full of assorted beasts and they were raring to go! A few flaming bears and the first game was over.

Game 2 was even faster as the Firefly’s Deck did its thing while Nishida's got stalled out by wave after wave of irritable squirrels. The MCA all-stars were then able to stomp all over the last province and it was Game 2 and match to Katsutoshi.
