[D3 MA] Ken, meet Barbie

[Hotaru Sakura]

Sakura entered hte dojo in a workout uniform, tank top and grey-red camo pants, and a hoodie with a Firefly mon on it. She grabbed one of the bokkens from the racks, and settled into a basic Kata, that was supposed to resemble Strike Like Fire. Kenjutsu was never her forte, nor any kind of combat really, she was more the cute face that asks innocuous questions kind of ronin, but still. The Dojo of the Firefly taught that in close quarters, all options must be considered. So, time to slash.

[Taiguno]

A monk wanders into the dojo and bows to the location as he walks through the threshold. He is in his robes as always, and nods to the Firefly that is already present. He doesn't initially interrupt, instead doing a series of warmup jujutsu exercises.

Sakura bowed in return, resuming her kata for now.

When finished, she turned towards the monk, huffing her breath. Her muscles were not used to this kind of activity. For now, she observed the monk's exercises, though trying not to stare.

[Taiguno]

After finishing off his warmup exercises he smiles at the Firefly once more and nods in greeting. "Good afternoon. This one is Taiguno, devotee of Uzuki the Immaculate. It's a pleasure to meet you. How has your day been?"

Sakura bowed deeply. "Sakura of the Hotaru, Taiguno-sana. The pleasure is mine. So far so good." She straightened and eyed him. "Just in for some exercise. My martial skills are a bit lacking, so I wanted to improve. How about yourself?"

"Pretty much the same reason. Been slacking in my martial arts training lately. Too busy learning the city." He bows in return.

"Ah, a newcomer then, to the World of Dreams?" Her voice was full of sincere interest, but meanwhile, she settled into a basic stance again.

"I am. Been here less than a week. How about yourself? You a fresh arrival or is this maybe your home?"

As he asks, he also gets into an unarmed stance, preparing for his next exercises.

"Born and raised and..." She wasn't sure to mention it. "All my life here. Never been off of it. Happy to give you some advide if you desire."

She started with an aggressive strike moving.

"It's an interesting world. A lot more going on than I expected. I imagine it's pretty easy to get lost in the bustle. What are some of the quiet places to visit here?"

"Quiet? Hm...let me think." She stepped into an aggressive cut against an invisible opponent, momentarily unbalancing herself. "The city is always bustling, but during the mornings, the Garden of Mists is fairly placid. In fact, most habitation areas are quiet around dawn, and even at the Temples, there is only the bustle of the monks."

[Taiguno]

"I'll need to enjoy a morning in the garden then," he replies with a nod of thanks. "I imagine it's pretty interesting to grow up on such a diverse world. The Dark Forge did not have nearly as many visitors from other clans."

"It was certainly interesting. Of course, I didn't have access to many of the more fun parts of the planet." She frowned. "I wasn't born among the Hotaru, but I was offered fealty." She offered as way of explanation. "Heh. The Dark Forge..they are a suspicious lot for sure. Not many of the other clans would be allowed there. Nor want to go there. Maybe for some corporate spying, I guess."

"It's definitely a secretive world. Even being born and raised there among the Brotherhood I was still mostly an outsider. But the temple was good to me."

"So you are formerly a ronin? I suppose I was too technically, at least until I officially joined the brotherhood and devoted myself to Uzuki. But I was like 10 when I did that."

She nodded in agreement. "That is good to hear, at least." She tilted her head in confusion, before understanding. "I see, I see. So the Brotherhood has been your whole life, I presume?"

"I was around it the whole time, and I guess it was pretty laid out for me to join. Technically could have gone a different way, but it was the path of least resistance."

Sakura smiled. "That is understandable. Do you enjoy it, Taiguno-san?" she finished her current kata for now, wiping away the sweat from her brow.

"I do, though I couldn't tell you if I like it more than I would like a different life. For all I know, I could have become a very successful warrior or artist if I'd gone a different way. It's something that I sometimes consider, since it was a choice that led me to this path. At least it feels like one. Who knows though? Perhaps it wasn't a choice at all and the Fortunes made it for me?" he says with an amused grin while sweating from his own workout.

Sakura smiled. "Well, with thoughts like that, Taiguno-sama sure makes a good monk." She let out a small laugh. "I believe choices matter. All Samurai owe their lives to their Lord, but it's also their choice that matters in not giving in to Sin. Or at least, that is how I feel about it." she shrugged idly.

"Oh, I agree that choices matter. They matter a great deal and the Fortunes prefer to give them to us more often than not. But I also think that some choices are not necessarily made by us. Like sometimes a choice is presented to you and you don't know why you make the choice you did... have you ever gotten that feeling?"
