Before heading to check out the grove, Yakumo took a detour by the Temple of Ancestors. And almost turned right around right away when she saw that long staircase.

Ugh, what sort of idiocy is this? Isn't it much more efficient to let their samurai go in and out quickly to give their prayers, instead of hiking up a mountain?

Still, she convinced herself that she was a damn paragon of perfection, and began the slow process up. For every minute or so she invented some new curseword in her mind for whoever designed this, and wished eternal torture upon its architect.

Finally at the top, she found a bench to recover her breath and calm down her angry mind before stepping inside the temple proper.
