[Day 3 EE] The First Friend with First Aid (Expecting)

[Yūrei]

"....Bastard."
Yūrei puts down the binoculars, absolutely fed up with Jiro earning yet another medal. From her position on the 4th story of a building overlooking tghe temple she'd been able to see it all. The Abbott praising Hawkeye for 'protecting our sacred soil' that pompous blowhard bowing and saying it was all in a day's work.

Her shoulder stung to Tengoku as she gingerly tried to move it. No chance she was getting out of this under construction flat and into there anytime soon in this condition.

With a sigh her good arm pulls out her communicator, flicking over to Sakura's number. The screen flashes, her picture for Sakura is from a couple years back at a party, both of them flushed and beaming at the camera.

"Oh I am not gonna hear the end of this."

She starts awkwardly hitting typing a message

'Hi babe. Had a drone accident. Could you come with the repair kit to 43 Ancestor Way?'

Still grumpy with herself she hits send and picks up the binoculars again to watch Jiro strut around the complex.

Sakura had a different plan for the evening. Read a book. Clean up the room. Go out and meet someone cute.

But nupe. The ghosts of the past never relented.

Good thing she had a "drone repair" kit on her for "accidental drone discharges".

She followed the instructions on where to meet. She finally found the right apartment. 69, seriously Yurei-chan? Really 69?" She sighed.

She entered without knocing. "Hi honey." Her voice was slightly bitter with sarcasm. "What have you gotten yourself into?" she moved as she asked, old habits dying hard. While she wasn't classically - or at all - trained, she did observe it enough times in back alleys to know the basics. Spray the wound, ignore the yelps of pain, bandage, pat it, give a lollypop. Sadly, she had no lollypops.

"There there dumpling, now you should feel better." Yep, still some sarcasm.

Despite the yelps of pain and the lack of a lollypop, by the end of it Yūrei has full motion in her arm again, the sharp white of the bandage distinct against her darker skin.

"...You know I hate being called dumpling."
She tries her best to look annoyed, she really does. But with one arm hanging out of her tunic and Sakura clearly having been dragged from her duties the best she can manage is sort of a sad puppy look.

"Thanks for coming and bailing me out though. I know you were probably eating cake or-" guiltily "-doing something important. I ran into that Hawkeye guard again and just shot me, twice! He's going to end up Clan champion if they give him a promotion for every ronin he's shot."

She relented though. "You and your puppy look." She muttered under her breath, before sitting down, and pulling in Yurei for a hug. "Jiro? Again. Why did you go when he's on shift?! You know he's just looking for excuses to shoot people! He even shot a Yogo once!"

For a moment, a streak of real fear entered her mind. "Yurei-chan, be. Careful. No koku is worth you dying. Not to me."

She looked away sadly, the cute make-up on her face visible in the light shining through the sneaky window. In fact, her clothes seemed to be on the cutesy side, nothing elegant, but well made. "Wasn't doing anything important either way."

"Not a date. Just..." She gestured into the Void, indicating nonsense. "Just figured maybe I'll go out, meet someone cute, like in the dramas, you know? The Festival is tonight and it's...not fun to go alone. I know you're on a job, and the others have plan. I know I can join them, just...not the same, you know? Now, tell me more about what you're pulling here, and why specifically there." She gestured to the Temple to the Ancient Dead People.

"I'm always here if you want to talk about it. Otherwise..." she let out a sigh. "Can't really offer more. Don't want to drag the Firefly into it. I can patch you up though."

For a moment Yūrei's just tired, all she wants is to crawl into her futon, maybe with a tub of ice cream and tell Sakura everything.

"It's family stuff. Your dad, he was a good man right? You've told me so many stories about him."
