The Princess of Twilight was a visage in
black and purple with accents of gold, with a fine mempo-like mask to add to the flare of a masquerade... after all, when attending parties on a Scorpion world, you had to have masks. In lieu of the woman's usual black gloves, they were replaced by a pair made of golden lace instead and covering her fingers were elaborate
nail guards.
She was overall rather pleased with how her clothes seemed so sweepy and dramatic in the mist that the illusionists had conjured up.

Lord Magistrate was present, wearing a
rabbit mask along with a somber
grey kimono in his role as
Herbalist of the Moon. He wore a perfume that was different from his usual, this one having a more medicinal notes. He was watching the proceedings with some curiosity, walking to Yakumo as she entered. "Good evening, Princess." Mineichi greeted her, knowing that she would recognize his voice.

The not singing, but all dancing Stormclad Dragon of the Depths was available for anyone wanting a twirl around the dance floor, or a conversation of total confusion.

The mask hid her smile, but one could see it in around her eyes.
"Good evening, Sir Herbalist," she teased, the mask disguising her voice a little but it was still unmistakeably Yakumo. As the mask had small holes that allowed for fresh air, and more cleverly for drinking straws.
"Quite the evening. I was wondering how our noble hosts would top themselves after the previous party, but this is quite impressive." Yakumo couldn't help but to make a gesture to the mists, which made her billowing sleeve flutter playfully in it.
This time, she was more alert too, compared to the last times she met him.

The Crimson Mistress of Your Dreams is also around even for those that don't dream any more.

"The peers look to outdo each other, whichever way they can." Mineichi explained with a wry smile on his lips, his eyes intent on her. "No stone is left unturned, no expense is spared in the noble aim of showing off that you can do everything better. Be it sake aged sake from Green Carp, Firefly art on asteroids or even exotic animals from frontier worlds. Someone always finds a way to one up the others." The World of Dreams was impossibly wealthy, its lords and ladies rich beyond measure. The excess Yakumo had seen was one of the signs of money losing all practical meaning. "It can get overwhelming very easily, I have been told." he added, softly shaking his head. "I hope Princess has enjoyed herself since we last talked?"

Still dressed as an archetypal theater demon, Kanna wandered the party like the vengeful ghost she had adopted the guise.

Yakumo herself had kind of lost the practical meaning of money just in the past year, as the Imperials and the sponsors had not left her wanting for anything of material value. What did even a banana cost anymore? 1 koku?
"There is something about it that sweeps you away pretty quickly, yes. It's surprising how quickly one becomes accustomed to excess..." she said, demurely looking him over while pretending to keep an eye on who else was entering as it was still early on.
"Mm," she nodded, "I have, in fact. But doing what I love doing the most is always something that raises my spirits, no matter where I am." No doubt she was talking about last night's concert, but it felt a tad gauche to refer to it so directly when it was a
masquerade. "There was one I missed from the audience then, though I knew he would not be there," her violet eyes gave him a very pointed look, "but I'm sure that can be made up somehow. Likewise, I hope the Herbalist Rabbit has been well?"

Dressed in her flowing dress of
midnight with deep purple floral accents and a mask that matches elegantly. The Crepuscular Violet was the sight of an interesting addition to the background of a beautiful painting. Gaze's casting around a little more often than most because this was not the game she was best suited for playing, but it was asked of her by those she would never wish to disappoint.
Not too long ago, she caught the sight of Mineichi approaching Yakumo and it spurred a mix of emotions that she was far too well trained to let get the better of her. Swallowing the remainder of the glass in her hand she uses the excuse to move and claim another. Letting one of her hands drop to her side she'd grab for the extra flowy bit of the dress she wore. Twisting it up between her fingers in an anxious fidget. Wasn't this easy to get to her before.. before.. narrowing eyes a different woman came to mind, and the fidgeting of her dress got worse to the point she almost took a fistful once.
Trying to busy her mind, she walks through the party trying to find someone to distract herself with.

After her disappointing performance, Reki slipped into the crowd to recenter herself. For the moment she needed to plan a new angle of attack...
At least the dress and name thing had worked out.

It had been some time since Sumie had been banned from the Green Carp Living Role-Playing Society, which unfortunately left her lacking in many suitable LARP venues where she could make use of her character costume. However, it seemed like these
hoity-toity la di da venues were the perfect opportunity to dust the cobwebs from
her outfit and put it to good use, even if not entirely relating to the spirit of the event in the slightest. While it was already a costume party and she lightly didn't need her obvious facepaint in her disguise to clash with the aesthetics, she thought the two went hand in hand.
The heimen at the door were very befuddled with what they were provided and that only infuriated her. "...Just
say it!" She would demand of them.
"Uhm...introducing now, Lady Beatorisu Asuta," the heimen would partially stumble on the forced pronunciation of some archaic name of some forgotten gaijin empire.
"
And?!" She demanded next.
"...Of the Black Iron Clan, third generation of her kind..."
"Yes, yes.
AND?!" Her patience was growing thin.
"She currently has Revere level three active...and you are all awed by her."
"That's right!" She would declare out loud before joining the party.

"It has its perks." Mineuchi quipped, waving his hand at the gathered crowd. "Yet one has to take care not to get swept away by all this. I have seen it happen all too often." Many of the ronin that called the City of Many Sins their home had been samurai assigned to serve on the world once. Drug and alcohol fueled parties, often orchestrated by the Scorpion intelligence agencies were downfall of many a diplomat. Scorpion samurai were not immune to the many temptations, many disgraced bushi and courtiers now serving as acolytes at the Shrine of Passion. "I suppose that is part of the thrill. Take yourself to the edge - whatever edge - and see if you can survive."
There was a short pause as Yakumo admitted missing his presence, the Herbalist taken a little back by her admission. "I heard it was quite the success." Mineichi replied, trying to keep his eyes on the audience, even if he couldn't quite resist glancing at the Princess occasionally. She was rather fetching after all. "People here do love a good spectacle." The Scorpion tabloids had reported the event rather religiously, though understandably downplaying the efforts of Yakumo and Hinata. A Scorpion had been on the stage after all. "Well, should the Princess be named Lord Moon's Consort, I am sure we could
eat out in a way Princess would not forget anytime soon." While the offer was innocent enough, the way Mineichi placed emphasis on certain words made his actual intent rather evident. "And should the Princess not win, I am sure we can still arrange
a little something. What say you?"

Mr. Brightside in a golden jacket and white pants was annoying several Scorpion courtiers about the inappropriate danger of their dance moves.

Senshuken cannot help but laugh with the introduction and approach in awe of the gaming spirit within this one. "Lady Beatrice! You look magnificent tonight!" She greets her and offers a bow. Not a normal Rokugani one, but the way the gaijin of the old days supposedly did it.

Oh hey, that must be Koyuki over there. Is Rei here too I wonder...? Yakumo was keeping her attention divided between everyone else in the room and Mineichi, but she wasn't that good at multitasking discreetly so the Magistrate did get up with most of it. She knew she probably shouldn't flirt with someone possibly dangerous, but... the fact that it was dangerous was part of what made it exciting.
At least her mask covered her cheeks, so the beginning pink color of a blush wasn't that easy to spot. Unless you were perceptive or up close to her.
"Well, I
am a Princess... so I like to think I have set the bar high for anyone else to compare to me tonight." Some of her haughtiness from being the peacock was still there. And was probably always there. "That sounds like a fine suggestion to me - a chance to taste the finest World of Dreams has to offer."
Why yes, she was talking about the food, of course.

Rei was, in fact, there. He stood in the corner, drink in hand, mask pulled up to allow him to take sips. The black and red suited him rather well, actually, giving him a chance to try the brooding look. It worked.
Finishing his glass, he set it on a nearby table, pale eyes sweeping the room.

The worst dancer in the room was observed by one of the best. The Stormclad Dragon of the Depths did not look impressed. It had been created that way. It always looked unimpressed.
It was also trying to put the straw of it's drink up it's nose so it's wearer could drink.

Rei frowned back, looking at the Dragon of the Depths. His brow creased as he observed the drink trying to go up the creature's nose.
Reaching up, Rei pulled his mask down over his face. And then, with slightly exaggerated motions, pulled it up again, bringing his (empty) glass to his lips.
Then he set it down again, waiting.

The Stormclad Dragon froze . . . straw almost up nose . . . and watched Hare-amoro. You could almost hear the gears turning, before the orochi mask was lifted and it's denizen could drink properly. A little lock of blue hair was visible before the mask went back down.
