[D7 LE] Information Event: Night of the Dread Pageant RP thread

"Well... Lion," she said, and that single word just summarized perfectly all her feelings on that particular clan. A chuckle punctuated it quite well too. "I'm sure some of them have good hair, or a wonderful personality. I just wonder where the Lion are hiding them." Oh right. It wasn't Sadane night. "As for the Imperials, I find them perfectly fine. A tad dull, but nothing offensive." Perhaps she was not too keen on badmouthing her sponsors, or those serving the throne more directly.

This time there was some noticeable red color to her pale skin as she caught that mischievous look in his eyes. "You are most kind to keep my comfort and pleasure in mind so."

"Well, one has many things one his mind - your comfort and pleasure among them." he replied, grinning behind his mask, feeling rather smug to see her flustered. Chances were that they would not see after the court season ended and with the city being mostly peaceful, if not for few gaki-related incidents, Mineichi was rather free to lavish Yakumo with attention. The fact that she was more than willing to enjoy the city and its vices with him did not make the proposition any less appealing. "What do you think?" Herbalist indicated at the crowd. "Who should be crowned Lord Moon's Consort if not Princess?"

"Well, one has many things one his mind - your comfort and pleasure among them." he replied, grinning behind his mask, feeling rather smug to see her flustered. Chances were that they would not see after the court season ended and with the city being mostly peaceful, if not for few gaki-related incidents, Mineichi was rather free to lavish Yakumo with attention. The fact that she was more than willing to enjoy the city and its vices with him did not make the proposition any less appealing. "What do you think?" Herbalist indicated at the crowd. "Who should be crowned Lord Moon's Consort if not Princess?"

Her eyes remained on him for a moment, those violet-hues looking at him with interest and curiosity, before turning to look out at the party guests. There had been some pretty impressive costumes, like that Judgment or Justice one... but really? As if anyone compared to her.

Yakumo tilted her chin up a touch haughtily. "I don't think anyone can compare to or rival the Princess of Twilight."

Rei pulled up his mask, revealing smiling lips. He started to bring the drink to them, but then paused. Slowly he turned, looking at Hinata. Or rather, the Stormdragon. Staring. And underneath the mask, probably staring.

"Uh..." Rei cleared his throat. "What's up, Stormdragon-san?" He resisted the urge to see if there was something behind him.

"Oh not much. That costume looks really good on you Hare-marrow-samaaaa!!!"

Underneath the mask Hinata was actually blushing a little at being caught staring so blatantly . . . even with a mask shield in place.

Rei chuckled softly. "Thank you, Stormdragon-san." He said, smiling at the mask. Rei was aware of the effect he had on people. He also figured it wasn't worth correcting the name. It was a silly name anyway.

He stretched casually, leaning against the wall, before bringing his glass to his lips for a sip. "So, tell me. Which of these little parties have you enjoyed the most?"

Blue eyes within the mask watched the lanquid stretch closely. There was a brief pause before replying.

"Oh I think this one by far. I love the dancing and the costume and everything."

"Whaaaaat?" Senshuken obviously has a few objections, but her tone is rather friendly, teasing and playful. "You talk about integrity, forgetting old good willpower rolls that have raised generations of fans, and you still offer advice to noods?" She chuckles and turns to face the second Kuni, the clueless one. "Please, if you are to actually read a book, ask the friendly Scorpion of your neighbourhood which one it absolutely has to be. Sometimes family can lead us astray."

Lady Beatorisu Asuta gave her an incredulous blink at that, feeling like she's been challenged directly. She may say things about her Clan or Family but this felt like it was going far too close to the deep end. "Fucking seriously here, are you defending the lame-o fifth edition?! Is this the noise I'm supposed to be hearing right now?!"

She waved her hand dismissively at Crimson Mistress of Your Dreams. "Ugh! Don't listen to her, she has no idea what she's talking about. Fourth edition is okay, if you've got to learn something but third edition is what it's at. Actually, I would only play third edition with the fan errata, two point six. There's a reason why they're still pumping material for that game and there's a massive network presence for the game. Powers supplements. 'Restricted' lore tomes. Antagonist creation rules for player characters. All the additional ERP tables you could use. Nobody plays the fifth edition, other than murder-ronin dorks."

Yet, he had a grin on his lips. "But also, I did ask, if not Princess? What if you had not walked through the doors?"

"As lady butterfly will soon find out, the Last Judgment can be quite gentle. It reserves harshness for those who truly deserve it." he replied, emptying his drink and pulling the straw out from under his mask. "How do you like the ball? I'm truly fascinated by all the costumes that everyone is wearing".

Senshuken barely avoids laughing. Kami! She just loves nerds. One last blow and then they can make up and enjoy their common interest. Or so she believes.

So! She turns to look at Sumie with eyes full of disbelief. "How old are you? Like 30?" That should be enough for now, especially since the one million question is being asked. The question that should never be asked, but always is.

"By having fun, of course, Kuni san. Games are for fun, not for determining winners and losers, no?" She says to Koyuki this time.

"It's Edge of Darkness! Darkness." The gothic lady would reinforce the title of the game adamantly. "Vampires? Psh, that's a lameo thing to call them by people who aren't learned in the game. In the lexicon they are actually called Leech Wraiths, when a sort of lost gaijin spirit from the great beyond possesses a human and grants them immortality but not without a great cost. They suffer from eternal hunger and must siphon out the living essence of people in order to maintain their power. They're so powerful that they dominate societies from the shadows and everything is their plaything! They're that bad."

If there was a way to express her disgust by rolling her eyes further than she could, she would absolutely do it. However, there was a very disgusting scoff at the question that felt like an attack on her character. "No! Do I look like someone who attends lameo gatherings where star viewers, wine tastings, or poetry readings. Didn't think so. Sure, 3rd edition was probably around before I was born but at least I know what good RPGs are without being spoonfed whatever is on the shelf nowadays. Unless some people, I discovered good taste for myself."

Looking away from Mineichi, the Princess of Twilight looked out at the gathered ones. A part of her wanted to point out Koyuki or Rei, in case he had some plan involving whoever she named, but at the same time... she preferred to keep him in the dark of her connection to those two. And so, she decided on who she thought had been the most impressive. "The Last Judgement," she said, a nod of her head indicating Miya Nishida.

Or do you think, for example, that Mr. Brightside over there" he ponited at Otomo Koroshi, "wants to attract attention to himself...? even though the lady in the burning dress is competing with him a lot." he said pointing to Yurei

Clearly, some shopping is in order. The gears began to click in her mind and merchants somewhere had a shivering feeling and went to check their stocks.

"Or perhaps the burning one is a symbolic electronic phoenix? And Mr. Brightside is a discussion on lightness and dark? And the vampire...well she really seems quite committed to being a vampire, that one."

Her narrowed eyes brought a faint smile on his lips, Mineichi making a mental note on how she had reacted, that little tidbit of information stored should he need it later. "Last Judgement. Very fitting." he nodded, seemingly satisfied with her answer. "I was just curious..." he murmured, licking his lips. "..what you would find impressive." A short pause. "To know Princess a little better, yes. I can only claim to know you that well." While they had shared some intimacy and while he had some idea of the person Yakumo was supposed to be, Mineichi could hardly say he knew her. He defiantly hadn't expected to find this side in her - but then again, Yakumo was a star. Chances were that she knew her worth. "Maybe you can return the favor later?" he offered, smiling still.

Her eyes flashed concern for a moment, but Yurei's dress was clearly out, though it had been a rough day. Her eyes narrowed.

"Those are good options, though I question setting your own costume on fire seems a bit suicidal, no?" he said, changing his interest to a few of the other participants, "What do you think of the ninja wannabe?" and he pointed to Usagi Rei, "or The Darkness That Slithers Through Dreams" and pointed to Kazumi. "Both very dramatic costumes, though I liked the performance of the latter better."
