Well, it was fun to reprise Yakumo again, but I think she's going to be way too famous now to be played again as a PC. It already was a bit of a challenge this game in some aspects, but she's headed into superstar-dom now!

Yakumo! Probably the only celeb PC or NPC that Sakura did not have a dedicated thread t odrool/basic fangirl over.

It was cool to see Yakumo return! Especially liked the Hinata-Yakumo dynamic!

Thank you for joining us for Banner once more and bringing Yakumo! Very happy to see that she managed to put out another concert and all that publicity work is amazing. Also, loved your profile too! Were there any star/celebrity things you were hoping to do or did you mostly accomplish them this game? I'm sure that fighting a spirit wasn't on your list but it did happen!

Also, I suppose Eriko won't be able to ask for an autograph so easily anymore. We'll always have the Mold moment together.

I do miss not getting that opportunity. My posting energy fluctuated a lot this time around. ^^;

I really enjoyed the Hinata-Yakumo dynamic too! Because even if Yakumo is a jealous and spiteful bitch, not even she could bring herself to be *directly* mean to Hinata (sure she'd shade him on occassion).

It was fun to return to Yakumo for this game. Past 2 years have been rough, and past months have been hard on me, so about a month or two before the game started, I locked in on Yakumo because 1) I knew Yuji's player was planning on Spider so that felt like a nice teamplayer to have, 2) Yakumo was already a character I knew so it was more like getting back into something familiar, and 3) Yakumo is also a character that can be very shallow so if I chose to I could focus on that and not have to worry about depth and complexities. Turned it all three choices were good for me.

I knew that if I brought Yakumo, I would try to do another concert. It's a fun way for players of artistic characters to put themselves out there and show off, and I liked how Yakumo was able to do that last time too and bringing some focus to Koharu and Jiro both as less-known artists. Hinata wasn't an unknown, but he worked perfectly for her "How Can I Annoy Nazuna The Most When He's Not Here"-plan, and Kazumi being a local DJ similarly to Koharu was perfect (gotta rope in the local talent). I invited Yogo Tamiyo as well to take part in the project, but the player seemed to have dropped then by the time I asked on Day 2. It might've been for the better since then I wouldn't have had to bring Yakumo's Jealousy-disadvantage up as much.

And thanks for the profile! I almost never manage to make those fun and entertaining character-posts, so this time I figured I was going to do it! It was a lot of fun to make.

Hmmmm... I think I wanted to do more "hanging out at the mall and shopping", or just in general flexing on being a celebrity choosing to shop at specific places? But it's part of the challenge of playing someone super-famous who is also a samurai - people aren't going to mob you like they do with celebs IRL, and I didn't want to assume too much in scenes by taking control of background faceless NPCs. It was a challenge sometimes too in finding a balance in being a rich and famous celebrity vs hanging out with other PCs, but I felt I managed. Not sure if I would manage in the future, so I'm quite happy to let this be the end of Yakumo's run as a PC.

And no! Fighting a Gaki was not at all on my bucket list for Yakumo in any game! Goodness, she is effectively Earth 1. Koyuki tanked like several Yakumo's worth of Wounds in that fight, she would've been down if not Dead on just that first hit alone I'm pretty sure. But it was an interesting end to her personal story arc, as she found a lot of strength for herself by being thrown in as the Gaki's "goal" near the end there. It gave her a focus to accept and embrace that she is actually a Daigotsu, and that the blood of Daigotsu himself flows in her veins - she's not a damsel in distress, she has the strength to face these dangers too! Just a shame that for goals I had to choose between her two greatest ambitions, and I settled on the one that is more how Yakumo wants to leave her mark on the galaxy (by her own skill and talent, and not just because of a name she is still working on proving herself worthy of claiming).

And Eriko has a fancy signed poster now! But she can always come asking for other autographs.

I did not expect her to get involved in plot.
Certainly not involved in Gaki-hunting plot!
Absolutely not involved in a Gaki-Fight!!!

But I was surprised at how... calm? Yeah, I was surprisingly calm going into the fight. Because Yakumo was very determined to do it, Do or Die. If she died fighting Gaki, I would've been a bit bummed out I think, but I was oddly enough not too worried about it in the fight itself? If she died, I felt it could've been a big dramatic point in the overall story. But I am super-glad she survived though without a single scratch on her! Thanks Koyuki.

What's next for Yakumo is conquering the galaxy with her music! She's going to fully throw herself into becoming the biggest star the Empire has seen. Her Daigotsu-siblings can use their strength at arms to browbeat the galaxy into submission, but she's going to make people voluntarily throw themselves at her feet as her fans. Ooohohohohohohoho~!

Damn, I did not expect Yakumo to have so much fun with Hinata. Truly, he is the best member in Usagi Drop! (Yakumo might be a secret fan of him now)

Is there any scene or interaction you thought about having, and thinking back wished you had time to explore? Or, perhaps, any particular connection to an NPC you would have enjoyed interacting with?

Ah, Koyuki and Yakumo are both such delightfully deep and complex people... when they're not angry or in horny jail.

There were some scenes I wish I had done, or done earlier/more of. Like meeting Yuji's family, or in general spending more time with him as a fellow Spider that seemed to have many similar thoughts to Yakumo.

Yakumo never got to meet Mariko in person (I think?)! So that would've been fun to do. I just didn't have enough spoons to be confrontational about Yakumo's Jealousy disadvantage, so she ended up mostly being petty and using Hinata to get back at Nazuna (which also backfired a bit in that she thought it was fun to hang out with Hinata).

I would've liked to explored more with Mineichi, though I was overall pretty happy with those scenes! Another NPC I wish I had crossed paths with would've been Yogo Sadae, just because I felt it would be hilarious to have a Scorpion matchmaker try to sink his hooks into the superfamous starlet for some sort of marriage to a Scorpion official.
