Being more on the sidelines again, there was nothing really big going on with him. But if you have questions: ask away!

While skimming through threads, I've been under the idea Nishida was split between his Crab heritage, his Imperial position, and his own self-interest. Right or wrong? And, in the former case, where does his loyalty stand when these aspects push into different directions?

He is! Being freshly imperial was something he had to get used to. In addition, he still had a scalding hatred towards the Scorpion, something that Yakumo has lessened somewhat, but he will never forgive Bayushi Akagi even if he had let go of the thought of Chiruha.
It was a bit wild to play an imperial who comes from a clan considered crude and uncivilized, though Niushida had always appeared more gentlemanly than typical Yasuki merchant on Asakaze.
As for his loyalty,... I would say that he probably serves himself the most. He has ambitions to climb even further up the ladder, and you can't do that if you're overly altruistic. At the moment, he can achieve the most by serving the Miya, although he likes to invoke his origins to secure privileges with the crabs.

Hail Nishida-sama (and his koku). Thanks for a lot of fun scenes between him and Yūrei over the course of the game, I appreciated his imperia/Crab vibe!
Do you think he changed much over the course of the game? And how will have a town to call his own change him (if at all?). Any big surprises?

I do think he changed a bit. He tried to be more open than on Asakaze, tried to get friends at last (Not sure if that was successfull
), had a bit of a reality check with his obsession and the revalation that: even with all his money and status, he can't have what he wants.
Being a Lord proper might be a good thing for him: he can finally use all his commerce skill to develop Miyada, and if the GM allow it, he will make it a respecatable town in the future! (Also i'm still waiting for the payoff from Asakaze and the now incoming payoff from the drake godfather project!)

Thank you for joining us for Banner once more and bringing back Nishida! Poor Nishida, still dealing with the loss of Chiruha, even if that's only in his contempt for Scorpion!
It was nice that we managed to pick up what happened at the end of Asakaza between Eriko and Nishida. There was an element I hadn't considered revisiting! It did make me wonder if he/you were prepared for what might be involved when offering your help to Eriko. It could have very well started with danger instead of investigation, especially with all that talk of target practice. Were you prepared/expected for that possibility?

I did prepare for the possibliity of a fight! Arranged Yurei to be my Yojimbo and all (Hence why she was present later in the real fight). I think the main motivator for Nishida was to make his own failure right, he's a man who doesen't like to loose or fail and he wanted to rbeak even with Eriko, no matter waht, so he was willing to repay her, somehow

*pokes the Imperial*
Nishida will be remembered in Yakumo's diary as "The Imperial I Made Cry". Not sure if that's good or bad yet for her future.
It was interesting that you say Nishida was on the sidelines, when he seemed to be involved in Eriko's investigations, the Glimmerstones, *and* the Gaki-stuff. He was just never in the thick of it, but always seemed to have information of some sort to pass around, which I thought was really interesting. I don't think Yakumo would've asked him to tag along for Gaki-shenanigans though, as Imperial = Important, and "I might never work again if I get an Imperial hurt O_O".
Was it just my impression or did Nishida seem very unhappy with his married life?

Nishdia had superficial knowledge of a few plots! But that was it ^^; I would have liked to stick somewhere deeper in it, but most things already had some group that already dealt with the things.
As for his married life: Nishida made the choice to marry the Imperial for the sake of serving the clan. Of course, this also had a personal gain, but (even though his husband had no screentime) the relationship between the two can be considered expedient at best. There is a lot of bitterness in the whole affair, considering that Nishida almost had someone who A) interested him, B) was useful to the clan, and C) aspired to make him a better man.
In his BG I wrote that Haruto would have been interested in at least a friendly relationship, but that Nishida has been too bitter so far. After the WoD I do not know if something will change

Nishida!
Sorry for dropping our thread, I think there was a real interesting conversation there. Thank you for sticking around, and I enjoyed our interaction with the Eriko plot.

No Sweat! End-Game Fatique is real!
I enjoyed Sakuras presence, maybe we should've met a bit sooner ^^; But the one thread we had was really nice!
