Firefly in the Corner (Tsuyo's Q&A)

As usual, I didn't get to be nearly as active as I'd like, or meet as many characters. Work was a tad overwhelming, but the character's been quietly adding pieces in the back of my head since Asakaze, so I made a go of it.
I did not expect to be surrounded by Firefly. It was kind of amazing, getting to see a few different angles that people are taking on the little mining clan that's growing.
Thanks to everyone making the game live and breathe.
Ok...ask away. Tsuyo was kind of an open book though.

Tsuyo-sama! It was a real pleasure RPing with you, and I enjoyed reading your scenes! I appreciated what the wisest Firefly bought to the table and I really enjoyed her character. Lots going on underneath the surface and a very distinctive character voice!
Other than the firefly horde what was your biggest surprise? Did Tsuyo end up as you envisioned back on Asakaze?

Thank you very much for joining us again and bringing Tsuyo to us! I liked her concept very much, especially when her artform is rather unique and uses an aspect of the sitting that very much wasn't touched. I didn't get to see her much IC but I very much liked your event write-ups. I hope you had fun in them!

I don't have a question, I just want to note that Tsuyo was a terrific character, and it was always fun to see her in things!

At Asakaze I just had 'Firefly' as the probable clan to play. Somewhere not too long after, I started thinking about what, precisely, her thing would be. Mining is an easy default, but with a winter court, she'd need some appropriate skills to make sending her a sensible choice, so I hit on art. It was a while later before thinking about what sort of art made sense. There's a line somewhere in the Banner fluff about asteroid sculptures and that popped into my head.
After that, she just sat in the back of my head and accreted bits of background here and there for about a year. So very different from the first amorphous blob of a concept, but pretty consistent once she started to set. I'm glad she could be an interesting bit of the scenery since I knew I wasn't going to have time to dig into plot much.
Biggest surprise? Ending up IC shipping her roomie and this extroverted ronin chick... XD

Thanks! I was a little surprised to end up solidly in the running for 'oldest PC' at only 30. But it was great fun having Sakura, with her brand new clan status giving her that 'just starting out' feel, to bounce off of.

Thanks again for running things. I had a great time even if I couldn't be as active as I wanted. Not latching onto a plot did leave me scrambling a bit for motivation in the last days, but work was busy enough that it was just as well.

Appreciated. Thanks for the thread where at least she learns that she was wrong for the past year about him having a dead wife vs. a missing one. XD

Ahhh so sad that I never got to hang with the Cool Mom Firefly. I feel like Yakumo would've had some passing knowledge of Tsuyo's art (mostly because that idea was so unique and cool)!
What drew you to playing Firefly this go around?

I'm amused at how the mom-vibe kind of took over. XD
I did figure that she'd be familiar with Yakumo's music as well, at least since the Imperial sponsorship, since Firefly and Imperial are kind of connected. Add in that pile of Glory, and...
The choice of Firefly was partly just liking Minor Clans and wanting the lower stress level. Great Clans tend to be more stress at a winter court (this did not seem to be the case here, buuut...I was making that decision a long while back). Of the new Banner clans, Osprey is dear to my heart, but Firefly always had some of the most interesting development space to move around in. Shark, being fight-heavy, haven't really been on my radar. Once I hit upon artist as a space to move in, I enjoyed thinking about what sort of art and craft might already exist among the Firefly, because humans make art wherever they go.
