Common (and legal) recreational drugs

Post by Tassu »

Taba
Small colorful pills coming in many shapes that contain both nicotine and synthesized endocannabinoids, used widely as an anxiolytic. While many companies produce taba, the small tanuki-shaped pills produced by Soshi Biochem are both the best known and the most widely available brand. This particular brand is heavily associated with 'Taba-chan' a tanuki mascot used in commercials. When used in reasonable amounts taba has few side effects though an overdose will lead to severe gastrointestinal distress.

Hakumu
Bitter tincture sold in small bottles, hakumu is a mild hallucinogenic substance that allows the user to experience vivid and often pleasant visions lasting few hours. Such trips are inevitably followed by headaches and thirst as some of the active compounds of the tincture are potent diuretics. Overdose leads invariably to anxiety, paranoia, and delusions that sometimes can persist for days. However, due to the foul taste of the substance poisoning anyone with hakumu against their will is nigh impossible.

Chirp
Sold as juice for electric cigarettes, chirp is a moderately strong stimulant that improves wakefulness and ability to maintain focus. While many local companies produce and sell chirp, the 'Tweet' manufactured by Soshi Biochem is by far the most readily available and the most popular brand. 'Tweet' is commonly associated with small perky bird that features both on commercials as well as on the packaging of the product. While most people tolerate chirp relatively well, excessively large doses may lead to anxiety, heart palpitations or even cardiac shock

The righteous need not cower before the drumbeat of human progress. Though the song of yesterday fades into the challenge of tomorrow, the Fortunes still watch and judge us. Evil lurks in the datalinks as it lurked in the alleys of yesteryear. But it was never the alleys that were evil.
