People would definitely have to be seriously jaded to be bored by this game. The game's biggest shortcoming is it's going to be over soon, and we can't repeat it with different concepts

Not that I complain, I had fun with my loneliness.

There isn't an exact science with open scenes, unfortunately. I've admittedly tried to figure them out over the years, doing the math and planning. There was a lot of needless stress about them but at the end of the day, sometimes they don't pan out. Sometimes you just have to make them or join them and hope to find happy accidents. At least now I tell myself: It's not a numbers game but more of a how do you feel about your time here when the game is all said and done.

I have noticed that Open scenes tend to work a lot better early game when people are trying to find their footing. As the game progresses, and people find their storylines, they tend to take a real sharp drop in popularity. I do try to populate them when they can because I've often been on the "I've missed all the storylines" train before.

And it's a sign of a really good gm when you can take one of your random npc and toss it into a neglected open threads like Boogie did with Doctor Badass at the sanctuary.

I did look at joining a lot of Shigure threads, but they kept landing either in places where Hato wouldn't go, was somewhere else, or was asleep.

Too late for this game obviously, but in any game, I'm always happy to have someone throw me a pm of "Hey, wanna thread?" I've never ignored such a request because everyone is what really makes the game enjoyable.
