When rolling dice, is it possible to choose which ones are kept, or just high/low?

If you are rolling for my event you must choose high or low when rolling. If not mentioned in the roll, it is assumed you took high.

When doing collaborative rolls, do phantom ranks from advantages or from MCA embassy, count as ranks in the skill, e.g. a +1 bonus from the assister to the person doing the roll?

2. Is it possible to use Luck on a contested roll *after* you've seen your opponent's roll? Seems like it could go either way. The text of Luck reads, "A number of times per session equal to your rank in this Advantage, you may choose to immediately re-roll any one roll you make, keeping the higher of the two results."

3. Different question but somewhat related: Can I use Luck on the information roll after a heist is completed?

3. Yes. Any roll, once per session. Information roll is a roll sooooo

2. I have no idea on how the timing works. My gut instinct says that opposed rolls are simultaneous and this dice land 'at the same time', after which you make the decision to re-roll.

I'm going to say that ample Clue points are a huge bonus on their own and can't be used on the same turn at Void Points. So you can't double up to do +2k2 or have a reduction of 20. However, if you're a Shiba bushi and have the tech, I'll allow it in that case.

So it's a Void Point substitute but all the other Void Point rules apply. No more than once per round.

Wanted to ask for some clarification regarding lore rolls as I've been told that they can't be reattempted:

In this thread both myself and Sakura fell short on the TN (after raises) for the spirit realms to look into information. In a pm the other players mentioned that they had been told in pf that they could not attempt these rolls again. Just to clarify, is this

1) can't attempt this in the thread again (totally understandable)
or
2) cannot attempt this again at all in the game?

If it's the second one, could something be added to rules for the future to show that if a lore roll to look for something is failed it can't be reattempted by that player against in the game? I was surprised to hear that we couldn't (for example) come back the next day and look again with fresh eyes

No need to add such thing. It is in the rules.

Wouldn't approaching it on a different day or a different location then fall under change in situation in this then?

Obviously I 100% agree you can't just keep rolling lore at the same time and place over and over and over, but it felt really odd to me that you couldn't go away for a day then come back and try again as that seemed pretty normal to me. I assumed the 'can't roll again' was for the immediate, not forever - as the investigation lets you do the reattempt immediately
