Akodo Reki was, much to her eternal shame, a Wartetusbo 24k player. As such there was always going to be some measure of friction between herself and the FF players, still the tournament was something of a big event. The Akodo was curious enough to come see the grand tournament on planet. While clearly the game was inferior to the sublime miniatures based strategy game of WARBO24K, it was still a fun watch. There were in fact some level of tactics involved, and maybe even some grand strategy too.

Also people got pretty excited and that is just infectious, even to a largely stoic Lion.

"What, now?" Mariko said with a bit of annoyance before she looked around to see what he was talking about. With an exasperated sigh, she glared over at the machine. It was unlikely it was going to end here. "...great."

She gingerly made her way over to the vending machine and looked over it, as well as behind her from time to time if someone was going to appear out of nowhere. Perhaps trying anything, she pressed a few buttons to see if anything was going to come out or if a magical door was going to open. Eventually, she would duck slightly and carefully put her hand into the slot to search it. "...there...ugh...I think there's a note here."

With that, she pulled out what looked like a roll of paper. Treating it like it was a disgusting piece of refuse, she carefully unfolded it to find another message. She read it out loud so that Rei would know its contents. "...Good, you made it. I can see you from here. You look very...*ugh*. Now, I want you to throw your communicator into the machine...and come to the Kakugokuya. 9th floor...room 912. Do not take the elevator, stairs only..."

This scene has wonderful content from Rei and Mariko both. However, I just can't get over the: "You look very.." line here being pre-emptively written on a note. It's killing me, I absolutely love it.

After a while and some confused looks from Airi, a hissing sound answered from up in the tree.

"... you can speak to me???" She seems to crease her brows, or the equivalent of that for a Drake, but that is quickly replaced by curiosity. "Oh... that's so nice! So... can Rei-rei-dad speak my way too?". She widens her eyes. "AND HE NEVER DID?? I'm so mad at him now!"

It had been some time since Sumie had been banned from the Green Carp Living Role-Playing Society, which unfortunately left her lacking in many suitable LARP venues where she could make use of her character costume. However, it seemed like these hoity-toity la di da venues were the perfect opportunity to dust the cobwebs from her outfit and put it to good use, even if not entirely relating to the spirit of the event in the slightest. While it was already a costume party and she lightly didn't need her obvious facepaint in her disguise to clash with the aesthetics, she thought the two went hand in hand.

The heimen at the door were very befuddled with what they were provided and that only infuriated her. "...Just say it!" She would demand of them.

"Uhm...introducing now, Lady Beatorisu Asuta," the heimen would partially stumble on the forced pronunciation of some archaic name of some forgotten gaijin empire.

"And?!" She demanded next.

"...Of the Black Iron Clan, third generation of her kind..."

"Yes, yes. AND?!" Her patience was growing thin.

"She currently has Revere level three active...and you are all awed by her."

"That's right!" She would declare out loud before joining the party.

"Careful with my baby, Jiro-kun," she warbles to the lucky(?) staffer on holorecorder duty, "I got the settings all perfect, so you just have to press that button..."

Get yourself a spouse who looks at you the same way Seika looks at her holorecorder!
